June 7

Officer went to the Bradford Inn in reference to a report on an incident that occurred the week before. The complainant stated that a truck tried to pull up to the front door and hit the roof of the canopy. The driver gave her his information and then left. Video footage was also shown.

June 8

Officer was dispatched to West Moring Street in reference to stolen property. 911 advised that the day before there was a structure fire at another residence on West Moring where a utility shed has caught on fire. This caused a neighboring greenhouse to also catch fire. The owner of the greenhouse stated that the frame was still in good shape, but the neighbor had come by and removed the frame and all the stuff on her property. The owner of the property in which the fire occurred on stated that he thought the greenhouse may have been on his property. He contacted the neighbor to sort things out.

Officer was dispatched that the 24-hour Store had been robbed. The offender had left in a vehicle, and it was stated that no weapons were involved. The offender was identified through video footage and a search began.

Officer was at the Days Inn hotel in reference to an ongoing investigation. While in search for an offender, the offender was spotted in the parking lot of the Days Inn hotel. The offender was being looked for due to charges such as kidnapping and robbery. Offender had just robbed the Days Inn after robbing the 24-hour Store hours before.

Officer responded to South Main Street in reference to a found social security check. Officer made contact with c/p who was renovating the location. C/p handed officer a US treasury check for November Social Security. The back of the check was endorsed and was found in the alley behind the store.

Officer observed a vehicle with the passenger side brake light not working. A traffic stop was conducted where the officer could smell an odor of green marijuana. A vehicle search was conducted where a crystal-like rock substance was found which was believed to be methamphetamine. Due to a call of a robbery on South Main, officer had to leave but advised offender that he would be taking out warrants on him and that he needed to turn himself in to SPD later in the morning.

June 9

Officer responded to West MLK Blvd in reference to a damaged phone. C/p stated that offender grabbed her by her neck and smashed her phone. No marks or signs of abuse were found on c/p.

Officer met with c/p on West Church Street in reference to a report. C/p advised that an unknown person damaged a fence on his property. The fence had just been put up due to the c/p wanting to keep unwanted people off his property.

Citations were issued to an offender for operating an unregistered vehicle and no insurance.

Officer was dispatched to West Main Street in reference to a dispute. The offender was located but denied the alleged dispute. The offender had an outstanding warrant for theft by shoplifting. The offender was placed under arrest.

Officer was stationed on HWY 56 North conducting checks for valid registration and insurance. A vehicle ran with no valid insurance and a traffic stop was conducted. The driver was issued a citation for no insurance and the vehicle was towed.

June 10

Offender was issued citations for driving an unregistered vehicle and no insurance. The vehicle was towed as well.

Officer was dispatched to South Main Street in reference to a stolen vehicle. The offender was located but refused to get out of the vehicle. Offender was arrested for theft by taking auto and obstructing law enforcement officers.

Officer responded to Hickory Trace Circle in reference to a dispute. C/p advised that the offender had returned unwelcome and entered through a window. The offender was discovered to have an outstanding warrant through Emanuel County as well as through probation.

Offender was arrested for battery and driving with a suspended license.

Officer responded to South Main Street for a back door alarm going off. The back door of the store was found to be knocked off the hinges. Video footage was provided showing two people breaking into the store. The two offenders were arrested but were juveniles, so they were released to their parents.

Officers responded to the area of Canoochee Road and Happiness Drive in reference to a stolen vehicle. Officer gathered information on the matter.

June 11

An officer advised another officer that a vehicle did not have any insurance. Officer followed offender and conducted a traffic stop. Vehicle was towed and offender was issued a citation.

Officer responded to Waffle King in reference to a customer that had been asked to leave and to never return. While enroute, officers observed the offender walking, and they made contact with him. Offender was issued a criminal trespass warning.

Officer was dispatched to Harris Street in reference to a stolen lawn mower report. C/p stated that she had last seen the lawn mower the afternoon before and when she went to go outside that day it was nowhere to be found.

June 12

While on another call, the c/p wanted to file a report for a stolen trailer. C/p stated that her trailer had been taken back in November.

Officer was dispatched to SPD in reference to a report. C/p stated that gave her grandson her GA EBT card to get a drink and other items from the store. She stated that she had $124.00 on the card an after her grandson used it there was $121.00 left. She stated that when she checked again, all of the money was gone. She stated that she believed that the clerk wrote the card number down and gave it to someone else.

Officer took a report at SPD in reference to a phone that was found. He stated that he found a cell phone on West Morning Street while walking.

Officers traveled to Hickory Trace Circle to serve a probation warrant to offender. One officer went to the front door and made contact with a female who advised that the offender was inside the residence. One of the officers had also spoken with a child in the back yard and offender thought it was about him and started yelling profanity. The offender was detained and taken to the Emanuel County Jail.

Officers responded to West Church Street and Lewis Street in reference to an anonymous 911 call about shots being fired in the area.

Officer responded to North Main Street for someone trying to cash a stolen check. C/p stated that victim came in and advised her check book had been stolen Sunday from church. On 6/12/23, offender came through the drive thru and chatted a $150 check with victim’s checks. Offender then returned on 6/13 and attempted to cash another check for $210.

June 13

Officer was dispatched to Family Dollar. C/p stated that a woman walker inside the store with nothing and sometime later left with a bag full of items.

Officer was dispatched to SPD in reference to a report. C/p advised that it has been discovered that someone had taken a lot of money out of his banking account.

Officers traveled to Jerome Street to serve an active warrant on the offender. Offender was arrested and was also issued a citation for interference with an officer.

Officer went to West Church Street for someone jumping over and damaging a fence. Officer made contact with c/p who stated that they are pushing his fence down and still coming in his yard. Evidence of the damage was shown to the officer.

Officer was dispatched to Family Dollar and was approached by a Dollar Tree employee stating that the same female that stolen from Family Dollar also stole from Dollar Tree.

June 14

911 dispatched officers to the area of Racetrack Street. 91 advised that an anonymous caller called in and stated that there was a group of boys that had guns and were talking about shooting someone. When officers found the group, they ran and dispersed. The guns were removed by police.
