July 23
Officer responded to the area of West Main Street in reference to a report of a male subject who had just broken a window at the old city hall building. The offender would not speak with officers. Offender was arrested.
Officer was positioned on Louise Street in reference to a possible active physical altercation. The offender opened the door and was irate. The victim stated that she had been angry when they woke up that morning. She continued to be irate as officers arrived. Offender was taken to the emergency room for evaluation.
July 24
Officer responded to the area of Lee Street in reference to Emanuel County 911 receiving a report of shots fired somewhere in the area. While patrolling, officer advised that units responded to the intersection of North Green Street and New Street. Upon arrival, contact was made with complainant who stated that his son had been struck in the face with a handgun and was then shot. No offender was located at that time.
Officer responded to the Kwik Shop in reference to a gas drive-off. C/p stated that a female offender prepaid $20 in gas but pumped a total of $65 worth and left the store without paying a remaining balance.
Officer met with c/p who stated that she left her vehicle at a tire shop for service and that when she picked it up, she noticed damage to both sides of the vehicle.
Officer was dispatched to Gumlog Road in reference to a third-party caller stating her daughter called her stating her boyfriend put hands on her. Negative contact was made with anyone at the residence. 911 advised that the caller was on Pughsley Street and the offender had snatched her phone out of her hand. The victim stated that she will be staying with her mother and moving out.
July 25
Officers responded to McLeod Bridge Road in reference to a 911 hang up call. The residents stated that a brother and sister had been arguing but it never got physical. No contact was made with offenders.
Officer conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle that failed to stop at a stop sign. Offender was found to not have a valid license and was arrested.
Officer conducted a traffics stop on a vehicle who entered the center turn lane before merging into the far-left southbound travel lane. Offender was found to not have a valid driver’s license and was arrested.
Officer conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle that missed the center turn lane. It was found the offender did not have a valid driver’s license and was arrested.
Officer conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle traveling approximately 50 mph in a 35 mph zone. The driver was found to be under the influence of alcohol and had an open container in the vehicle. Offender was arrested for a DUI.
July 26
Officer conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle that drove by his parked patrol unit and was very close. Offender was arrested for a DUI.
Officer responded to Walmart in reference to a vehicle and pedestrian accident. The victim stated that a vehicle struck her in the hip while she was exiting the store. She stated that she was not injured and refused EMS. She stated that her primary concern was for the elderly trial of the vehicle.
Officer responded to Lynn & Bob’s in reference to a theft of services. C/p stated that the offender left the restaurant without paying for his meal. They further stated that was the second time the offender had left without paying. Officers responded to his residence and his mother paid the balance.
July 27
C/p knocked on the back door of SPD and took a report. He advised that he resides on West Church Street and that he had been involved in a verbal disagreement with neighbors. He stated that they were complaining of the odor of pre-rolls he had purchased. Officer responded to resolve the situation and all parties were separated.
July 28
Officer was dispatched to Gumlog Road in reference to a possible domestic incident that had already occurred. The caller advised that a female was being chased by a male and she was bleeding from the face. The witness stated that the female fell into a small bush on the front porch and the unidentified male began striking her with his fists. No offender was located but a description was given along with a name. The name was found to have active warrants out of Fulton and Bulloch Counties.
Officer was dispatched to Gumlog Road in reference to a caller reporting that a male had taken her phone and would not return it. C/p stand that she and her boyfriend had been involved in a verbal argument and that he had thrown her phone into a pond, however this was later determined to be untrue. The phone was recovered and returned to her.
Officer responded to Modoc Road in reference to a theft investigation. C/p stated that the offenders stole cash from the residence.
Officer was waved down by a Department of Juvenile Justice officer in reference to a juvenile under her supervision who had run away from her. It was advised that the juvenile was wearing an ankle monitor and that it had been out of service since mid-July. The child was located and transported to SPD, then later taken to Emanuel County Jail.
Officer took a walk-in report at SPD. C/p stated that he did not have a report to make, but he wanted to make SPD aware of a possible incident between him and his ex-wife. He stated that they were in the process of divorce, but they have a child together.
July 29
Officer responded to South Main Street, in front of Scoops, in reference to a male rummaging through a trash bin. Offender was located and arrested.
Officer met with c/p at SPD in reference to a dispute over a vehicle valued at approximately $1,000. C/p stated that the vehicle belonged to her deceased husband and that he did not leave a will. She stated that the offender had possession of the vehicle and refused to return it. After contacting her, officers were able to get the offender to return the vehicle.
Officer took a walk-in report at SPD in reference to vehicle damage. C/p stated that she was driving in the area of Kite Road and West Main Street when a road worker was spraying Quick Crete causing the product to get on her vehicle.
911 dispatched officers to Industrial Way in reference to an unwanted male subject. C/p has been calling 911 multiple times wanting the offender out of the house which they have both resided in for some time. On several prior calls they have been advised of the eviction process along with TPOs. Both parties agreed that 911 is being called for no reason and they refuse to fix their own issues. Both parties were cited for disorderly house.
July 30
Officer was conducting traffic enforcement in the area of East Main Street when a vehicle was observed failing to stop at a stop sign. A traffic stop was conducted, and an odor of marijuana was detected. The driver was placed under arrest.
911 dispatched officers to College Street. 911 dispatchers stated that the caller advised two males pulled a gun on him. C/p stated they then left the scene.
