Officers with the Swainsboro Police Department (SPD) reported…

July 24

Officer received a call from deputy stating that deputies were at Old Savannah Rd. attempting to serve an arrest warrant on offender and advised offender ran out the front door. Deputy asked for assistance from SPD with their unmanned aircraft system to assist in locating offender. SAUS was launched and offender was located and apprehended.

Officer responded to Prosperity Dr. in reference to a report of multiple ATVs and motorcycles speeding down the road. Officer spoke with complainant who advised one of them struck her dog and it ran off after being hit.

Officer was dispatched to SPD in reference to a report. Complainant stated he discovered his truck had been broken into and $2,500 cash, a revolver, dog tracker collar, pair of shoes, shirt, spare key to his truck, and two other keys were taken.

July 25

Officer was dispatched to N. Green St. in reference to a burglary. Complainant stated he returned home to find someone entered his residence and took items valued at $730. C/p stated this is the third time his house has been broken into recently. The house appeared to be rummage through but another officer stated when she was there the week prior for a burglary report, the room looked just as it did on this date. No forced entry was observed.

Officer responded to Lambs Bridge Rd. in reference to a dispute. Complainant advised 911 offender left in a described vehicle. Deputy spoke with c/p who stated she and her boyfriend got into an argument and offender started punching her phone then threw it in the pond. C/p stated when offender heard her talking to 911, he jumped in her car and she tried to stop him but he pushed her down and left. 911 advised officers that offender’s mother wanted to talk to them about retrieving his belongings from the residence. While speaking with her at Hardee’s, offender arrived in c/p’s stolen vehicle. Vehicle was turned over to c/p and she wanted it searched before she drove away and a marijuana grinder and a blunt was found. Offender waws arrested and transported to EmCo Jail.

Officer responded to Hill St. in reference to a domestic dispute. Complainant stated she and her boyfriend were arguing and he pulled her hair.

July 26

Officer observed a vehicle traveling 60 MPH in a 45 MPH zone, at which time he initiated a traffic stop. Officer made contact with offender who stated she did not have her license on her and provided her name and DOB. Officer ran her info through GCIC to find her license are suspended. Offender was transported to EmCo Jail.

Officer was dispatched to Burger King in reference to a report of transaction card fraud. Complainant stated someone sent three $25 transactions to a named subject, and stated she believes her brother went in her house and used her card info to send the transactions.

Officers were met at SPD by complainant who stated she parked her vehicle on the side of WalMart and when she got back outside, an “X” was on the driver side window. Officer reviewed camera footage showed a male subject pull in the parking lot, got out of his vehicle and walked up to c/p’s window and placed an “X” on it, then left the parking lot.

Officer pulled behind a vehicle that was stopped in the road and sounded his siren and the vehicle pulled off. Officer activated his lights and siren and the vehicle pulled over. Officer advised the driver that it’s not appropriate to stop in the middle of the road to carry on a conversation with people and asked for her license. Upon running her license, it was determined that they are suspended. Officer went back to advise the driver of the findings and she stated she paid the ticket. Officer asked if she paid the reinstatement fee and she said she thought she just had to pay her ticket. Officer advised her that if he could pay her reinstatement fee and provide a valid license by Monday, he would drop the citation to a warning but if she failed to do so, it would stand as a citation.

Officer was dispatched to Gumlog Rd. in reference to a report of several people hanging around complainant’s car and refusing to get away from it when asked. C/p and her boyfriend advised when they asked the people to get away from the car, they made threatening statements towards him. Officer could hear the crowd calling c/p’s boyfriend names so he approached them and they started to walk away. C/p’s advised that some of the crowd had guns and were talking about using them and that this is an ongoing problem and happens every weekend.

July 27

Officer was dispatched to Terwilliger’s in reference to a damaged vehicle. Complainant stated his windshield had a small chip with a long crack and a dent in the door. C/p advised a crew was cutting grass next door, so officer made contact with the head of the crew who stated they are with the CSB and was unaware of any damage.

Officer was flagged down in reference to a possible entering auto report. Complainant stated his girlfriend’s car was broken into by five males around 2 a.m. and they to $70, make-up and a toolbox. The toolbox and make-up were found down the road.

Officer met with complainant at SPD in reference to a possible fraud. C/p advised $1,000 had been removed from his bank account by an unknown person. Officer observed hundreds of transactions on numerous pages from as little as $5 to what appeared to be jail services.

Officer was dispatched to Prattt Ave. in reference to a welfare check. Complainant reported she has not seen victim in several days and she’s concerned because a car door was left open in the yard. SPD attempted to make contact with the victim by knocking on the doors. The front porch door was locked and the garage door was unsecure so officers opened the door and announced their presence before entering. The house was checked and nobody was observed.

Officer ran the tag on a vehicle to find the registered owner is wanted and has suspended license, at which time he initiated a traffic stop. Offender stated he was trying to take the female passenger to the ER due to a bite she has on her arm that she got the night prior. The bite appeared non-life threatening. Officer ran the driver’s info and his license came back suspended. Officer asked offender to step out of the vehicle and placed him under arrest. Offender was transported to EmCo Jail.

Officer observed a vehicle with a head light out, at which time he initiated a traffic stop. Officer ran the tag to find the registered owner of the vehicle is wanted and verified the warrant to find it is only valid in the state of Washington for extradition. A firearm was found and came back with no record and did not belong to offender. Offender was released and issued a verbal warning.
