Officers with the Swainsboro Police Department (SPD) reported…

June 20

Officer met with complainant at SPD in reference to a report. C/p explained that a firearm was stolen from on top of his bedroom dresser. He said it appeared that someone entered through a window. He also stated that he no longer resides at this place but his belongings are still there. 

June 22

Officer was dispatched to Kite Road in reference to a report. C/p stated that the night before she had been in an accident. She stated that the accident occurred at the intersection of Hwy 56 and East Main Street where she ran into the back of another vehicle. She said that the driver of the other vehicle was acting strange and that when she asked if she needed to call 911 he said no and left. 

June 23

Officer responded to Swainsboro City Hall in reference to a man requesting to speak to an officer. C/p advised that he was brought to Swainsboro on the day prior at approximately midnight. The offender brought him from the Circle K in Vidalia. He advised that he met the offender in court in Vidalia and was given his phone number in case he needed anything. C/p stated that the offender made him seep in the same bed and change his clothes. When he asked to leave, the offender left the c/p and c/p was locked out of the residence left with a pallet, pillows, and a water bottle to urinate in. 

Offender was arrested for possession of less that 1 oz of marijuana and driving with a suspended license. 

Officer responded to Enmarket in reference to a shoplifter. On arrival the offender was no longer on scene but video footage was provided. The offender stole a bag of gummies by placing them into his shirt and walking to the bathroom. He then proceeded to walk out of the store and leave in a truck.

Officer was dispatched to a residence on Price Street in reference to a female who wanted a male subject removed. C/p stated that she wanted the man out of her house because he is taking her jewelry and other things and that he has multiple driver’s licenses. Offender stated that she had picked him up two weeks prior and let him stay there to prepare and recuperate from an upcoming surgery he had. The offender was asked to provide his licenses, they all had different addresses and expiration dates. He was issued a citation for having more than one valid driver’s license and the eviction process was explained to c/p. 

June 24

Officer met with c/p at SPD in reference to a report. C/p stated that the offender left his residence with his phone without permission. 

Officer was dispatched to South Main Street in reference to a wallet being stolen. C/p stated that he was staying at the Roadway Inn and left to go to a meeting that morning. Upon his return, his wallet was missing along with his Social Security Car, bank card, and driver’s license inside. 

Officer responded to South Main Street for a female yelling that she needs the police. Officer mad contact with the aggressor who stated that him and the victim had gotten into an argument and she tripped over her shoes and hit her back against the bed. Victim was laying in the floor crying and EMS was able to put her the ambulance. Victim stated that the offender pushes her into a dresser while they were arguing. The aggressor was placed under arrest.

911 dispatched officers for shots fired on N Racetrack Street. Dispatcher stated that the shooter is walking around shooting around the apartments. Officers responded to the area and looked for any signs of victims or offender. Contact was made with several residence but they were afraid to say anything in fear of retaliation. When offender was found there was no firearm located but he was placed under arrest for criminal trespass. Video footage of offender with the firearm was provided. 

Officer was on another call on North Racetrack Street and heard 3 or 4 shots coming from the area of Lee Street. After he was cleared from the other all he patrolled the area of Lee Street but was unable to make contact with anyone. 

Officer was dispatched to the vape shop on South Main Street in reference to someone going through the trash in the dumpster. Upon arrival officer spoke with the owner. He advised that an unknown subject was going through his dumpster and throwing everything in the business next door’s trash. They stated that they believe it’s the same person that broke into the Smoke Cave a few days prior. 

Officer was at the ER and received a call from c/p who was his wife. She stated that while her and their daughter were walking at Harmon Park, a golf cart drove down the middle of the concrete and almost ran them over. She stated that he looked back and continued to drive recklessly. Officer had stopped a similar looking golf cart the night before on West Meadowlake Parkway and it was the same driver. Officers have patrolled the area since to find the offender but haven’t seen him. 

June 25

Officer was dispatch to the Easy Stop convenience store in reference to a hold up alarm. The store clerk/c/p met with officers and stated that a man placed items in a Walmart beg and tried to steal them and she grabbed the bag from him and he took off from the store on foot. The offender was identified, found, and placed under arrest

Officer responded to Rentz Street for shots fired. Officer saw multiple vehicles leaving the area and after he arrived many people began to flee to their vehicles. Officer had a man tell him the day before that someone was going to shoot up the Starblazer Nightclub. Officer asked how many were hit and how many were fired. Three people stated that no one was hit and only one shot was fired. Officer was able to locate three rounds that had not been shot, the bottom of a Glock magazine, and a black phone all in the area that the shot was reportedly from. 

Officer was conducting speed radar on HWY 56 South. He observed a blue vehicle traveling south at an estimated speed of 60 MPH in a 45 zone. Officer activated his emergency equipment and conducted a traffic stop of 62 in a 45. The driver did not have a license and was arrested. 

Officer was dispatched to South Main Street in reference to someone making threats to another. On arrival officer spoke with c/p who stated that he and a woman have kids together. He also stated that the woman sent her boyfriend into the store to threaten him. He stated that he will be waiting outside for him to come out. 

Officer was met at SPD by a man who stated that he found a debit card in the ATM and Robins Financial. The victim was found and his card was returned. 

Officer responded to the park on Gumlog Road for a fight. Officer made contact with a group of people. One of them stated that she had been having problems with another girl for about a month. She stated that her and her friends were at the park playing with water balloons and then the other girl came up fussing about someone talking about her and her baby. Witnesses stated that she left and changed her clothes and returned and a fight started. The offender stated that it all started on Snapchat with the girls talking about her baby and riding by yelling at her. She stated that when she confronted the girls the fight started in the grass.

Officer and other units went to North Racetrack Street to serve warrants. The offender was served the warrant and was also charged with obstructing police officers.
