Officers with the Swainsboro Police Department (SPD) reported...

July 17

Officers responded to N Coleman St. in reference to an ungovernable child. The mother stated she and her juvenile son got into an argument and she wanted him removed from the residence. Officers spoke with the juvenile who stated he and his mother had been arguing because she was always yelling and screaming at him. The juvenile was transported to his father’s residence.

Officer’s tag reader alerted expired registration and no valid insurance on a vehicle, at which time he initiated a traffic stop. Officer made contact with the driver who stated he had insurance and valid registration, then stated he owed money to the insurance company and believed they may have cancelled his insurance policy but believed his registration was valid. Vehicle was towed and driver was issued two citations.

Officer observed offender known to have active warrants on Gumlog Rd. and called her by her name and she turned and looked at him. He then called her name again and told her to speak with him and she stated she did not know that person and gave a false name. Officers later went to the apartment that offender was staying at and transported her to EmCo Jail.

July 18

Officer observed a vehicle with no valid insurance, at which time he initiated a traffic stop. Vehicle was towed.

Officer was dispatched to Barbara Ave. in reference to a dog or coyote in complainant’s shop. Officer contacted AC1 and they used a catch pole to remove the animal identified as a coyote. It was extremely malnourished and very weak, so officer euthanized it.

Officer was dispatched to Easy Stop in reference to a male subject harassing customers. Complainant stated offender had been in the parking lot for about three hours asking people for money and followed one customer to their vehicle after giving him $5 and asked for $2 more dollars. C/p advised that several customers told him that offender was harassing them and making them feel uncomfortable. Contact was made with offender at McDonald’s, and he refused to comply and was transported to EmCo Jail.

Officer spoke with a male subject who stated he realized he dropped his wallet in Zaxby’s parking lot after getting food. He stated he cashed a check the day prior and had $2,500 to $3,000 cash, along with two bank cards and a CLD medical card and his license. Officer spoke with management at Zaxby’s and requested video footage.

Officer responded to Project St. in reference to a domestic. He could hear yelling coming from inside the house and knocked on the door. A male subject opened the door, and officer could see a female in the living room and could tell she had been crying, along with two small kids that had also been crying.

Officer observed a vehicle traveling 46 MPH in a 35 MPH zone, at which time he initiated a traffic stop. Driver provided a Mexican ID and stated he did not have a valid driver’s license. Driver was transported to EmCo Jail.

Officer was dispatched to Latitude 105 in reference to a domestic. Complainant appeared visibly distraught and emotional and stated her boyfriend/offender physically assaulted her. Contact was made with offender, and officer detected a strong odor of alcoholic beverage emitting from his person. Offender was transported to EmCo Jail.

Officers were dispatched to W Church St. in reference to a large fight in the roadway involving multiple individuals. Officers observed a large crowd gathered in the area and several individuals fled in different directions. Officers were able to locate and identify the juveniles and made contact with DJJ and the juvenile’s parents.

July 19

Officer responded to Jordan Estates in reference to a male refusing to leave. Officer noticed clothes thrown outside the apartment and complainant standing outside who stated she wanted her boyfriend/offender removed from the apartment. C/p advised offender’s clothes were in a bag and he got upset when she called law enforcement and he ripped the bags and strowed the clothes everywhere. Officer advised offender to leave and make arrangements to get everything else and he continued to argue with c/p. Officer then explained to him that he was being disorderly, and he stated he did not have to leave because it was his residence and he did not have to leave. Offender then began walking off and left the area.

Officer observed a vehicle with no headlights on, at which time he initiated a traffic stop. Driver presented an expired license, and it was determined that he did not have a valid license and had a warrant out of FL. Offender was transported to EmCo Jail.

Officer responded to Oak St. in reference to a domestic dispute. Complainant stated a verbal argument occurred between him and his son and his son left prior to their arrival. Officers made contact with the son down the street, and he stated a verbal argument occurred and he left to prevent the situation from escalating and stated he would not return to his father’s residence.

July 20

Officer was sitting across from Ay Wey and was advised that a male subject sitting in his vehicle for a while and appeared to be talking to himself. Officer made contact with the driver and observed a strong odor of alcoholic beverage and marijuana coming from the vehicle. Officer asked the driver if he was ok and he slowly turned his head and stared, and officer told him he was “high as a kite”, and offender asked if it was any of his business. Officer told him that it was once a call was made for them to respond. Officer observed offender’s clothes soiled from waste down and there was an open beer in the cup holder. Officer then advised him to exit the vehicle and he refused. Officer asked driver 5-6 more times to exit the vehicle and he still refused and gripped the steering wheel. Officer then placed one handcuff on offender and grabbed his right arm and removed him from the vehicle. Offender was transported to EmCo Jail and his vehicle was towed.

Officers were dispatched to Stevens Dr. in reference to caller stating patient threatened to hurt her with a knife and was being irate. Patient is schizophrenic and stated he did not want to be there and wanted to go home and stated he did not was to hurt anyone.

Officer was dispatched to Braswell Blvd. in reference to caller stating someone shot the window to her house door. Officer observed the broken window and noticed a small pen tip sized hole with no exit hole and determined that it was not a bullet. Officer asked the caller if her son had a bb gun and she stated yes.

Officer was assigned a report regarding a theft of services at Waffle King. Complainant stated a male and female consumed food totaling $28.51 and left without paying and provided their tag number. During the investigation, the vehicle was captured by the Flock camera in Vidalia and offender was identified. Contact was made with offender, and arrangements were made for him to pay for the food, and he contacted WK and paid over the phone.

July 21

Officer responded to Emanuel Discount in reference to counterfeit money.

Officer responded to Dollar General in reference to counterfeit money.

Officer was dispatched to Mike’s Food Mart in reference to an altercation. Victim stated she exited the store and was stuck in the face by offender. Officer located offender and transported her to EmCo Jail.

Officer was dispatched to Hickory Trace in reference to a domestic dispute.

Officer was dispatched to Old Omega in reference to AC units being broken into. It could be seen where two AC units had been locked up behind a fence and lock and were gone.

Officer took a walk-in report where complainant stated he and his wife received a suspicious phone call.

July 22

Officer was dispatched to King Circle Dr. in reference to a hit and run and complainant was following suspect’s vehicle and was stopped on the shoulder of the road. C/p stated she was driving north passing Chapman’s FH when a truck came out of the parking lot across from Chapman’s onto N Main St. and made contact with her rear driver’s side wheel/fender. Officer inspected the vehicle but did observe any damages. Officer made contact with the driver of the other vehicle and asked if he was aware of hitting the vehicle and he stated he did not hit any vehicle and was actually fearing the vehicle because it was following him. Officer inspected his vehicle but did not notice any new or fresh damages to the vehicle.

Officer responded to S Coleman St. in reference to an unresponsive 78 yo male. Complainant stated he had spoken to his brother appx. five minutes before officers’ arrival and took him food. He stated that victim was recently released from the hospital and had previously fallen from a roof, resulting in injuries to his leg and wrist, and ha d been urinating blood for the past four days but refused medical treatment.

Officer observed a vehicle traveling 50 MPH in a 35 MPH zone, at which time he initiated a traffic stop. Officer could smell a strong odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle. Driver was issued citations for speeding and possession of marijuana less than an ounce.

July 23

Officer responded to Louise St. in reference to a possible active physical altercation and could hear a verbal altercation inside the apartment. As officer walked to the door, offender opened it and was irate. She had blood on her shirt and was bleeding from a scratch on her nose. She stated she has MH issues and nobody cares about her and all they want to do is lock her up and not get her the mental help she needs. Victim was transported to EMC ER for an evaluation.

Officer responded to Main St. in reference to a male subject who had just broken a window at the Old City Hall building. Officers observed a male subject walking a dog and attempted to speak with him and he immediately stated he was not going to jail or speak with officers, and said, “I need my security team here now”, and began walking away. Offender was given verbal commands to stop and complied, then walked off again. Offender was placed under arrest and stated, ‘my lawyer is out of East Dublin and if my life is ever threatened, I will have a kill team here in 20 minutes”. Offender was transported to EmCo Jail.
