Officers with the Swainsboro Police Department (SPD) reported…

July 13

Officer was at SPD when complainant came up. C/p stated that a man came up to him and stated that he was an officer and also showed him a badge asking for money. SPD has already had several calls about the issue.

Officer met with c/p at SPD in reference to a damage to vehicle report. She explained that a few days prior, the rear of her vehicle was damaged while parked in a lot. Officer observed the damage and asked for video footage of the lot, but no matching footage was found.

Officer responded to West Church Street in reference to someone kicking in a back door. Upon arrival officer made contact with c/p who stated that when he got home his back door had been kicked in. He also stated that someone had gone through his belongings and had taken his Xbox. Pictures of shoe prints were able to be gathered from the rug in the living room.

Officer was present in city court and the offender was before the judge in reference to a probation case. The judge ordered the offender to be held in Emanuel County Jail for 21 days. Offender was handcuffed and transported to Emanuel County Jail.

911 dispatched officers to South Main Street for offender damaging property. Upon arrival, contact was made with c/p who stated that offender was put out during his last incarceration. She stated that when he was released from jail, he returned to the room irate and busted the glass window in the room and then cussed them out. She stated he then walked across the parking lot where he busted the sign and kicked the water picket busting the water line. On prior dates the offender had been trespassed from the establishment, but the owner was still allowing him to rent out a room. Offender was later arrested for disorderly conduct and interference with officers.

Officer was at court when the judge revoked offender to Emanuel County Jail for 10 days.

Officer met with c/p at SPD in reference to a stolen/missing tag.

July 14

Officer was dispatched to Kite Highway in reference to two males arguing. While enroute 911 advised that c/p was leaving and was traveling to his residence on West Church Street. They also advised that the caller was involved in the argument and wanted officers to come to his residence. Officers met him at his residence, and he stated that him and the man were talking when the man asked him about some bug spray that went missing. He stated that he was sitting down, and the man approached him, so he stood up. The man then got aggressive and started pointing his finger in his face. C/p slapped his hand and then the man punched him in his face. The other man stated that the c/p got aggressive after he asked about the bug spray.

Officer was dispatched to SPD in reference to a report. C/p stated that someone took his work card and attached it to a Cashapp account. He stated that the person made a $10, $25, $26, and an $8 payment through Cashapp.

July 15

Officer was sitting stationary on North Main Street in reference to traffic control when he observed a vehicle run the red light at the intersection. The vehicle then accelerated their speed to 53 MPH in a 35 MPH zone. Officer intimated a traffic stop and could smell an odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle. A small bag of marijuana was located along with a container of a yellow wax substance. She stated that she had gotten it from a vape shop but after further review she only got the bag from the location. She was issued two citations for speeding and running a red light. The substances were sent to the GBI crime lab and test results will determine if a felony possession warrant will be taken. Officer observed a vehicle traveling and crossing the yellow lines. Officer initiated a traffic stop and could smell an odor of alcoholic beverage coming from the vehicle. The driver’s license was also suspended due to failure to appear in court. The offender agreed to do a field sobriety test and a portable breath test. Offender was arrested for driving with a suspended license and for suspicion of driving under the influence.

Officer was dispatched to South Main Street in reference to a man having chest pains and had been doing cocaine for two days. EMS arrived on scene and took him to the emergency room.

July 16

Officer was getting out of his vehicle at Enmarket and heard a female screaming “I’ll call the police”. Officer looked across the street and saw a man standing outside of one of the motel rooms. Officer reported to the scene and knocked on the door where a man answered. Officer stated that he could hear the screams all the way across the street and the man explained that everything was fine. The woman then sat up and stated that she was screaming because the two men wouldn’t stop arguing and she was trying to sleep. The men were arguing because one of them was not wanted at the location. The man was asked to leave, and officer transported him to another place to stay.

Officer was patrolling in Swainsboro and was dispatched for a theft call. C/p stated that he plugged his speaker and phone into the wall and when he returned the items were gone.

Officer was dispatched to Dandelion Street to investigate and remove an ex-girlfriend from the scene. C/p stated that she is the girlfriend of the victim who is the homeowner of the location. She stated that she was watching the ex-girlfriend through cameras around the residence. The offender stated that she was trying to see her daughter. She was informed that she was on private property and was asked to leave.

Officer was dispatched to Dawson Street in reference to a female that needs to make a report on a male who is threatening her. C/p stated that her and offender had dated in the past. She explained that he had been to rehab for drugs and calling her multiple times and texting her. While speaking to her she was receiving a call from a No Caller ID. Officer answered the phone and identified himself. Officer advised that he needed to stop contacting c/p in any way and hung up the phone. She explained that she had been out of town and had some car trouble and the offender would know her location and call her and accuse her of cheating on him. She stated that he also was going through her friend list on Facebook and messaging men asking how they knew her, and when they would not respond he would get aggressive towards them. She then continued to sow texts between her and offender where he would send her negative messaged on her physical appearance. There were also threats of harm to her and other men. Even after she blocked his number he continued. She explained that she was scared for her life, and she believes he will harm her. She was informed of the restraining order process, and she stated that she would like to move forward with charges. Two warrants were taken out for offender’s arrest for terroristic threats and harassing communications.

July 17

Officer responded to Lee Street in reference to a report of a man stealing the c/p’s purse. Upon arrival, officer spoke with c/p who advised that she found her purse, but the man had taken her cell phone. The man was the father of her daughter and she said that he took her phone because he was angry that she wouldn’t date him. While they were speaking her mother saw her phone laying on the ground next to the porch. She was advised that officer would document what happened but there was no crime committed since he didn’t take her property.

Officers responded to North Green Street in reference to stolen property. Upon arrival, officer spoke with c/p who stated that when he got home his back door was open and his television was on the floor and several items were missing.

Officer responded to South Main Street and met with c/p who advised that the offender was an employee at the restaurant. Offender came into the establishment advising that she was going to beat the victim up, who is also an employee. She was advised to leave, and a verbal altercation began.

Officer took a walk-in report at SPD in reference to a stolen television. C/p stated that she had been living with the woman for almost a year, but she has also been staying at her boyfriends’ house most of the time. She stated that someone contacted her and told her to go check her room where she noticed her television missing.

Officer received information that a man was in a vehicle with a busted front end and had active warrants in Emanuel and Bullock Counties. Offender was spotted in the vehicle and the driver sped up and pulled over on North Green Street, where the man ran on foot. He was also identified by the driver of the vehicle.

Officer stated that he smelled a strong odor of marijuana on Williams Street and pulled up to a group of men sitting at a picnic table. One of the men reached his right hand around to the back right side of his body and placed an object down. As he continued to attempt to hide objects, he was handcuffed. A clear bag with a white powdery substance was found, along with a bag marijuana.

Officer met with c/p on West MLK who advised that numerous tools and ladders were missing from behind his residence.

July 18

Officers with SPD were positioned at the cleared lot on Williams Street for the purpose of drug suppression. K-9 was deployed for a vehicle sniff but no change in behavior was detected. A hand search was allowed by owner and K-9 was able to locate four clear bags containing a green leafy substance, along with a digital scale and used clear packaging materials. Total weight of the marijuana was 39.2 grams.

Officer was contacted stating that a man was holding someone up in an apartment. Officers arrived and a man answered the door who had been in the vehicle when the man fled from police for having a warrant. There was a strong odor of marijuana present and a small bag of a white powdery substance was located.

Officers were dispatched to North Racetrack Street for a stolen vehicle. 911 advised a vehicle pulled in and stole c/p’s car. The vehicle had $1000 left to pay and was up for possible repossession. Man was advised to seek repossession and the vehicle would remain with the owner until he did.

July 29

Officer met with complainant/victim at SPD in reference to a stolen cell phone. He advised that he saw his red iPhone at his residence approx. two days prior. He said he spoke to anyone who could have possibly picked it up and no one had it.

Officer was at SPD when c/p walked in wanting to file a report of some unknown person stealing her wallet while working at the Emanuel County Medical Center. She stated that while working on the second floor, she placed her bag filled with her belongings in the delivery break room. While cleaning she stated someone went into her bag and took her wallet.

Officer met with complainant/victim at SPD in reference to a report. C/p told officer that he went to a business to pick up his vehicle that he had left there to be painted. He noticed some issued in the paint and asked the owner about it and the owner became irate and began cursing at him. C/p stated that he never got confrontational with the man.

911 dispatched officers to West Street in reference to a third-party c/p stating that her mother was fighting with her mom’s boyfriend and that he took her phone so she couldn’t call the cops. Officers arrived on scene and met with offender and victim. Offender stated that he and his fiancé had gotten into an argument and he had gone outside to cool off. He stated that he did not lay a hand on her, that the daughter just called because she heard them yelling at each other. The offender did have the victim’s phone but returned it when asked. The victim stated that he did not touch her, that her phone died while on the phone with her daughter and she heard the arguing.
