Officers with the Swainsboro Police Department (SPD) reported...

July 9

Officer was patrolling the area of Old Nunez Road and Sycamore Street when he ran a tag that came back showing the owner had a suspended license. After conducting a traffic stop, it was found that the driver also had an active warrant. Officer also detected an odor of marijuana coming from inside the vehicle and conducted a search. Marijuana was located inside a Taco Bell food box along with open cans of beer inside the vehicle. Offender was arrested.

July 10

Officer responded to East Pine Street in reference to the complainant wanting to retrieve her personal belongings. Upon arrival, the offender was spotted running into an apartment and closing the door behind him. The victim stated that she had just returned home from the hospital when she and the offender became involved in a verbal argument that turned physical. She stated that he pushed her to the ground and dragged her across the floor in front of her children. The offender had fled through the back door prior to officer entry. The victim stated that she was going to stay with her aunt.

Officer was dispatched to East Pine Street in reference to the caller stating a male subject was threatening her. Upon arrival, c/p stated that after the officer had left from the previous call to the residence, the offender came from behind the apartments towards her threatening to shoot her. The offender was later arrested on another incident that happened prior.

Officer responded to SPD in reference to a walk-in report. Upon arrival, the clerk at SPD stated that c/p had returned to his place of work. Upon arrival, c/p stated that the offender is a former employee of the business, and it was found that he had mobile deposited one of his checks along with cashing it at a gas station. Upon returning to SPD, the offender called stating he wanted to repay the money and was allowed to do so without pressing criminal charges.

Officer responded to Allen Street in reference to a report of vehicle damage. Upon arrival, officer made contact with the vehicle owner who stated that her vehicle was repossessed on June 23 and that she had retrieved it on that day and noticed damage to the rear bumper that may have occurred during the repossession. The representative of the tow company denied causing the damage and provided photographs of the vehicle during the time of the repossession.

July 11

Officer was dispatched to Zaxby’s in reference to a male subject in the restroom who was reportedly yelling and striking the walls. Upon arrival, officers made contact with the manager who advised that the subject was still in the restroom and requested that he be trespassed from the property. The subject denied striking the walls and was criminally trespassed.

Officer was dispatched to Walmart in reference to a male subject who wanted to harm himself. Upon arrival, c/p stated that he had called because he was worried about the subject after he heard him make a comment about harming himself. The subject stated that he did not have any intention of doing so, but he did need help finding a homeless shelter due to him being homeless. He was asked to follow officers to the parking lot but failed to do so and was asked to leave the premises due to complaints.

Officer responded to East Pine Street in reference to an unwanted subject. The resident stated that earlier in the morning she heard a male inside one of the bedrooms of her apartment. She advised that he is the boyfriend of her daughter. She further stated that he had been physically abusive to her daughter and does not allow him inside her apartment. She stated that she did not know how he gained entry and wanted him trespassed.

Officer was approached by the owner of Piggly Wiggly who reported a shoplifting incident and provided footage.

Officer responded to Market Street in reference to a damage to vehicle report. C/p stated that while she was in town her vehicle was damaged by unknown means.

Officer responded to East MLK Blvd in reference to the c/p requesting the offender be removed from the residence. The offender stated that she allowed him to move into her residence approximately two weeks prior because he had been homeless. She advised that she wanted him to leave because he had been instructed to not eat in his room and did so anyway. She then stated that she did not feel safe with the offender living in the residence because he had previously attended rehab for drug use. The offender stated that she was upset because he was unable to give her money at this time and that she was always starting arguments. Parties were separated.

Officers responded to South Main Street in reference to an intoxicated male attempting to purchase alcohol. The offender was arrested for public drunk.

Officer was dispatched to East Pine Street in reference to the caller stating people were fighting and one had been stabbed. Upon arrival, the officer could see a crowd of people around the apartment and made contact with a shirtless male who had blood on his shorts and arm. At the moment he stated he was okay and had scraped his hands while trying to stop a fight between a male subject and some females. More blood was later located along with a laceration and EMS was requested. The offender was identified and arrested.

July 12

Emanuel County 911 advised officer that a subject called them stating they would meet them at SPD in reference to a vehicle parked in the middle of College Street holding the caller at gunpoint. 911 advised the caller to meet them at SPD since she was already driving away from the scene. Officers went the residence and were met by three females on the porch; one believed to be the grandmother of the victim who was having difficulty breathing due to the incident. They stated that no one pointed a gun, and they did not know who the male was. A witness stated identified the male and stated that he pulled the victim out of the car and started hitting her. After listening to statements, officer was called to the area of North Racetrack and Project Street in reference to several individuals fighting. It was later found that the fight had something to do with the call but no one would speak to officers.

Officer responded to a reported threat on East Pine Street. C/p stated that while outside her apartment, the offender pulled a knife and threatened to stab her. C/p was advised of the process of obtaining a TPO.

Officers were dispatched to West Church Street in reference to a child calling stating that her parents were fighting. Upon arrival to the address officer spoke with the child who stated that both of her parents drink every weekend and always end up arguing. She stated that she had gone in her room and heard a loud bang and when she looked out her room, she saw her mother on the floor unconscious. Officer was advised by another officer that the mother had hit the father with an object over the head and he pushed her which caused her to fall down. Both parties were separated.

July 13

Officers were dispatched to Prosperity Drive in reference to the caller advising she had been threatened and the offender was not on scene at the time. C/p stated that the offender threatened her and sent an inappropriate video to her husband.

Officer took a walk-in report at SPD. C/p stated that her daughter and the offender got into two physical altercations over the weekend.

Officer took a walk-in report at SPD. C/p stated that her security camera captured someone walking in the early hours of the morning taking her daughter’s bicycle.

July 14

Officers responded to SPD in reference to a female wishing to file a report. She stated that she had allowed the offender to work on her vehicle while he was employed at a local mechanic shop. She stated that after he was fired, he offered to continue working on her vehicle and she agreed and she and her grandson would periodically check on the vehicle while it was there. She advised that last time her grandson checked on the vehicle, the offender was seen inside of it listening to music and cleaning it, but she didn’t think much of it at the time. Later, her vehicle was seen being driven in the Oak Park area and cannot get in contact with the offender.

Officer took a walk-in report at SPD. C/p stand that during the weekend prior; a backhoe operator tore down their book return box on the corner of their property while working on the road.

Officers responded to Williams Street in reference to a stolen bicycle. C/p stated that he woke up and discovered his bicycle had been stolen from his residence.

Emanuel County 911 dispatched officers to South Main Street in reference to a male being irate and throwing trash. The offender complied and picked up the trash and leaving the premises.

Emanuel county 911 dispatched officers to Turner Drive in reference to a welfare check. C/p requested a welfare check on her daughter because she had not heard from her for about 24 hours. She stated that last time she had spoken with her, she stated that she was working for her boss. After contacting her boss, he stated that she works online and he hadn’t spoken with her in several days. 911 advised officers that c/p stated her daughter was involved in an abusive relationship with a man from Atlanta, but she was not sure if he was in town. A friend was contacted who stated that she was going to Atlanta to visit her boyfriend.

July 15

Officer was dispatched to the residence in reference to a broken side window. The home occupant stated that nothing was missing but her TV and other items had been moved around.

911 dispatched officers to the area of West Meadowlark Parkway and South Main Street in reference to a rolling domestic. 911 advised that a male subject had taken off out of Harmon Park with a woman inside screaming to let her out of the vehicle. The victim stated that she and her ex-boyfriend had a disagreement, and bite marks were observed on her as well. Offender was arrested.

July 16

Officer conduced a traffic stop on a vehicle traveling 60 MPH in a 45 MPH zone. The driver did not have a valid driver’s license and was arrested.

Officers responded to SPD in reference to a male who needed to make a report. C/p stated that on July 14, he was at Harmon Park when the offender allegedly removed the antenna from his truck without permission. He stated that he did not wish to pursue criminal charges he just need a report for documentation.

Officer was dispatched to South Main Street in reference to an employee locating an unknown substance in the lobby. Officers took possession of the substance.

Officers responded to Gumlog Road in reference to a dispute. One of offenders was non on scene. The other offender stated that she and the other had been arguing about children. All parties were separated.

Officers were dispatched to Turner Drive in reference to a female stating she had suicidal thoughts and that she tried to harm herself then quit responding. She was later located and advised that she had not harmed herself and was not suicidal. She advised that the call came from her old number belonging to another female. The female was contacted along with her parents who checked on her,

Officers were dispatched to Harmon Park in reference to some subject chasing the geese. Five juveniles were located who stated that the geese appeared to have a broken wing and they were trying to catch it. They were told not to chase them in case they runout in the road and cause an accident.
