July 3
Officer responded to the Budget Inn to assist the Emanuel County Sheriff’s Office with a wanted subject. Offender was arrested.
Investigator for the Drug Task Force initiated a traffic stop on a vehicle due to the driver not wearing a seatbelt. The driver did not comply and refused to stop. After the vehicle finally stopped, the driver was commanded to exit the vehicle and complied and was placed into handcuffs. The driver was found to be under the influence of alcohol and was arrested.
Officer responded to Gumlog Road in reference to a 911 hang up call. Complainant stated that her boyfriend hit her in the mouth. The offender was not located.
Officer responded to Central Street in reference to a shoplifter. Upon arrival it was learned that the offender left the scene approximately 35 minutes prior to the call. Offender was located and paid for the items.
July 4
Officers responded to South Green Street in reference to an ongoing domestic dispute. Upon arrival, officers were met by the juvenile who stated that her father had slapped her mother while they were arguing. The offender stated that he grabbed and pushed her but denied striking her. The offender was arrested.
Officer took a walk-in report at SPD. C/p stated that she continues to have issues with her children’s father. She stated that her brother and the offender are friends and since she lives with her brother, the offender is frequently at the residence. She stated that the offender continually brings drama around her and her children and that he stole four Social Security cards belonging to them.
Officer responded to South Green Street in reference to the c/p retrieving her vehicle. She advised that the person who had agreed to pay her for the vehicle was not paying and had been arrested earlier in that day.
Officer responded to Kite Road for a 25-year-old male with a gunshot. Officers were advised it happened on the county and deputies were going to his residence to speak with his girlfriend.
Emanuel County 911 dispatched officers to the area of Summit Avenue and Advantage Drive in reference to a female reporting that someone would not leave the location. C/p advised that she was upset with another female due to her leaving several times over the previous weeks without informing her of her whereabouts. She stated that she came to the location to pick her up, and the subject struck her in the face which resulted in a physical altercation. All parties were separated.
Officer conducted a traffics top o a vehicle with a tag light out. An odor of marijuana was coming from the vehicle, and she stated that she had just dropped off two coworkers and it was probably from them. It was found she had an active warrant and was arrested.
July 5
Emanuel County 911 advised that they had received a call from a female who was extremely upset and then hung up. They were unable to ping her location, so the officer called the number. A female answered crying and a baby was heard in the background crying as well. She stated that her boyfriend had jumped on her and thrown her to the ground. She exited the residence and was located by officers and was returned to her cousin’s residence safely.
Officer responded to North Main Street in reference to a report of theft of laundry. C/p stated that someone stole her clothes from the dryer.
Officer assisted units with the ECSO during a traffic stop o Gumlog Road. Officer was advised that the offender appeared to be under the influence. Offender was arrested for DUI.
July 6
Officer observed a male carrying a bag containing what appeared to be cut copper wiring. Offender was arrested.
Officer received a call from Emanuel County 911 in reference to a report of a child molestation. C/p called and stated that her son had been molested by his former grandfather when he was younger.
C/p came to SPD to report damage to her vehicle.
Officer was dispatched to Lambs Bridge Road in reference to a dispute. C/p stated that the offender came to the location to retrieve the remainder of her property. He advised that they had agreed she would pick her belongings up after the store closed rather than during normal business hours.
Officer responded to South Main Street in reference to damage to vehicle. Offender and offender vehicle was not located.
July 7
Officer received a call in reference to a reported theft involving a business by a former employee.
Investigators with the Drug Task Force were serving arrest warrants, offender was issued a citation for possession of marijuana.
Officer took a walk-in report at SPD regarding a forged and altered check. C/p stated that an unknown person deposited or cashed a check drawn on his bank account in the amount of $4,000.
July 8
Officers responded to Liberty Street in reference to a vehicle damage report. C/o stated that he was unsure when the damage occurred.
Officer responded to Industrial Way in reference to a call for service. C/p stated that the offender had been gone all night and came home that morning drunk and high and starting argument sight he. The couple was told to separate for a few hours.
Officer responded to SPD in reference to a walk-in report. C/p stated that her husband has been taking random items and hiding them from her. She stated that he has taken her firearm as well as she was going to stay with her son and daughter in law.
Officers responded to West Main Street in reference to a hit-and-run accident. C/p stated that she was traveling eastbound when a vehicle struck the driver’s side of her vehicle and left the scene.
Officer conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle with a brake light out. Marijuana was located in the vehicle and the offender was arrested.
Officer was dispatched to West Moring Street in reference to a welfare check on a 70-year-old woman. C/p stated they could not get in contact with the woman. No one was inside the residence upon arrival. It was found she was at her daughter’s residence.
Officer responded to West Church Street in reference to a welfare check on an individual who was reportedly jumping into the roadway in front of moving traffic. The offender was found to be intoxicated and stated that he was waiting on a ride to take him to rehab. He was released into the care of the rehab center.
July 9
Offender was arrested for an active warrant.
Officer was positioned at Roses in reference to an intoxicated male. EMS transported the male to the emergency room.
Officer responded to McDonald’s in reference to a welfare check. Officer observed a male outside of McDonald’s standing with his hands and arms stretched down to his right foot. He stated that he was here from Alabama traveling after his divorce and he was just stretching.
Officer responded to North Anderson Drive in reference to an almost wreck that caused one vehicle to swerve and stop in the ditch. No injuries were reported.
Officer conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle with no insurance. Citations were issued and vehicle was towed.
Offender was arrested for an active warrant.
