June 20
Officer conducted a traffic stop on Hwy 56 N in reference to the driver going 55 MPH in a 35 MPH zone. GCIC confirmed that the driver’s license is suspended and the vehicle registration had been canceled. Offender was transported to EmCo Jail.
Officer conducted a traffic stop on Kite Rd. in reference to the driver going 52 MPH in a 35 MPH zone. Officer could smell a strong odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle and asked the driver about it. Driver told him it was in the center console. Driver was issued citations and released to appear in court.
Officers were dispatched to Scoops in reference to threats.
Officer was dispatched to Lee St. in reference to a domestic. Complainant stated she and offender were arguing and he started yelling and screaming at her and tried to hit her with a bed rail.
Officer responded to EMC ER in reference to an irate made arguing with staff. Offender was administered two injections to calm him down.
Officer responded to S. Main St. in reference to a disturbance involving a male and female fighting.
June 21
Officers heard five to six gunshots that appeared to originate form Racetrack and Kite Hwy. Officers quickly responded toward the area and came into contact with two males and a female running down Jefferson St. flagging officers down in a frantic state and advised the female’s boyfriend was shooting at them. Contact was made with offender, and he was transported to EmCo Jail.
Officer took a report in reference to a theft. Complainant stated she suspects her late husband’s sister may be in possession of the items.
Officer was dispatched to N. Racetrack St. in reference to an altercation. Complainant stated her boyfriend return home from a family trip and was acting different and they got into a verbal argument. C/p stated offender began getting in her face, yelling and pointing his finger at her then physically attached he by grabbing her throat and slamming her to the ground and attempted to choke her.
Officers were dispatched to E. Pine St. in reference to a disorderly.
Officer was dispatched to Stephens Dr. in reference to a 38yo texting complainant’s 14yo daughter. C/p advised her daughter had been sending and receiving nude pictures with offender and found out they have been intimate. Offender was located and transported to EmCo Jail.
Officer observed a vehicle with no license plate, at which time he initiated a traffic stop. Driver stated he recently purchased the vehicle and was waiting on the title. Officer asked the driver for his license, and he stated he did not have them on him and advise it is suspended. Offender was issued a citation.
Officer was to the ER in reference to a dog bite. Victim stated he had been bitten by a blue pit bull that was later put down by its owner.
Officer responded to Summit Ave. in reference to complainant stating her ex-boyfriend has been threatening her and showing up at her place of residence sitting in the parking lot without permission. C/p also stated they were in a physical altercation the week prior.
June 22
Officer responded to Project St. in reference to someone throwing caller’s belongings out of the house.
Officer responded to Mist St. in reference to an animal cruelty complaint.
Complainant called SPD needing assistance on W. Church St. in reference to offender having aggressive dogs roaming the streets and advised there are about 20 dogs not being fed or watered and are in very horrible conditions. Offender has been told of city ordinance several times and refused to speak to officers. Officer obtained a search warrant for the residence and arrived back on scene and offender ran inside and barricaded himself inside with several aggressive dogs.
June 23
Officer received a call from a concerned citizen about a large group of kids at Harmon Park smoking pot on SXS’s and 4-wheelers. Officer could smell an odor of marijuana in the parking lot but denied smoking and stated it was coming from the truck in the parking lot. Officer approached the truck and there was a male and female inside. As the female rolled down her window, officer could smell marijuana. Officer asked them to exit the vehicle, and the female grabbed her handbag and placed it on her shoulders. Officer then performed a probable cause search of the vehicle and asked the female if there was anything in her bag and she got upset and called the males’ name and started shaking, crying and clutched the bag harder. Officer then took the bag, and she got visibly upset and called her husband’s name again. Officer searched the bag to find a used meth pipe and several plastic bags containing white residue and the female stated it was meth. The male stated he did not know anything about it being in her bag. Officer advised him that she wanted him to sign her bond, and he stated he would not sign it and that he was done with it all. The female was transported to EmCo Jail.
Officers were dispatched to Hwy 56 N and Canoochee Rd. in reference to an 18-wheeler getting stuck in the church parking lot. Triple S Towing was able to get him out.
Officer responded to Gumlog Rd. in reference to a domestic.
Complainant stated a female pawned a TV that was being leased by Buddy’s Furniture, and it remains the property of the business.
Officer responded to W. Church St. in reference to a mail collection box being damaged.
Officer responded to Yard Master in reference to a shoplifting. C/p advised an employee of Archie’s Lawn Care stole a pair of Costa sunglasses valued at $310.
June 24
Officer ran a temporary tag to find the owner of the vehicle has a suspended license. Driver was transported to EmCo Jail.
Officer was dispatched to Sunoco in reference to complainant receiving contaminated fuel.
June 25
Officers responded to Robert Shaw St. in reference to a female living in the public restrooms and hanging her clothes between the poles. Victim stated she had been staying there and washing her clothes using the water hose on the property. She was advised she could not remain at the public restrooms, hang her clothes in front of a business or be in public view dressed in a sports bra and shorts.
Officer responded to N. Coleman St. in reference to stolen property.
June 26
Officers were dispatched to S. Main St. in reference to offender refusing to leave the property and exposing his genitals.
Officer was dispatched to N. Coleman St. in reference to an individual inside the building with a flashlight. Afte watching security footage, offender was observed exiting the building by pushing the bottom of the sliding door outward and crawling through the opening prior to officers’ arrival. C/p advised that he previously reported individuals attempting to steal items form the building.
