June 26

Officer took a walk-in report in reference to damage to a vehicle. The complainant stated that she was at Walmart on that day and when she was leaving the store, she observed damage to the back passenger side of her vehicle. She was unsure of which row she was parked in or what time it was. 

June 30

Officer was at Walmart in reference to a previously occurred shoplifting. Complainant showed officer a photo of a female with three children and asked the officer if he recognized her. Officer identified her due to prior encounters. Video footage showed the offender with a shopping cart with multiple items in different areas of the store. She then reached across the counter in the sporting goods section and grabbed multiple shopping bags, then continued to go to the baby section and placed all of the items in these bags. When attempting to leave through the auto parts section, she saw the c/p running after her, she then waved goodbye to c/p and left the store. All items were recovered adding up to $517.41.

July 1

Officer conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle with no headlights or taillights. The driver then told officer that there was a man laying in the middle of the road on West Main Street. The male was found and he told officer that he needed EMS due to his blood pressure being high and his back hurting. Offender was taken to the ER and then was returned to his residence. 

911 dispatched officers to West Main Street in reference to stolen items from a storage rental. Upon arrival, another officer explained that c/p had two storage rentals and that both had been entered without permission. It is unknown it offender forced entry or if they had a key. C/p hadn’t been to the unit since the beginning of the year, but he explained that last year the suspect stole his vehicle which had his storage keys inside. 

Officer was off duty and was inside a Mexican restaurant eating dinner with her family. The offender was talking very loudly shouting profanity with every other sentence. She was shouting threats about “beating someone up”. When the officer got up and asked her to use different language she cursed back at officer. Another officer was called and the threats continued and upon his arrival, he began to write her a ticket for disorderly conduct. Due to the July 4th festival occurring, they did not take her to jail, just wrote a citation. 

911 dispatched that a man was intoxicated in Walmart and was walking through the ladies clothing section after attempting to answer a back office. They also stated that he was in the parking lot meeting up with other people. Officers spotted him stumbling around a van in the parking lotted then started walking toward the entrance. Officer initiated a stop on the offender. Offender was arrested for public intoxication.

Officer responded to Gumlog Road in reference to a report that there were people at the residence trying to fight and refused to leave. Contact was made with c/p/victim who was on her front porch yelling and cussing. When asked what was going on she continued yelling. She advised that a group of people came to her house trying to fight her daughter. They stated that this all started because her daughter called someone’s baby ugly. 

July 2

Officer was dispatched to Hampton Avenue in reference to a domestic in progress. Upon arrival, officers could not locate the residence due to it being a new housing neighborhood. When they were finally able to locate the residence, officer spoke with c/p who stated that her boyfriend had been drinking and she was afraid of him. Officers took offender into custody and he was transported to EmCo Jail.

Officer was dispatched to West MLK in reference to a damage to vehicle report. C/p stated that she was at her residence when she heard a loud bang on her car. She drove off and observed the offender walking back in the residence. The back glass was observed to be broken all the way through. She stated that she did not want to press any charges that she just wanted the offender out of the residence. 

Officers were dispatched to Lewis Street. Upon arrival they spoke with c/p who stated that the man she had just started talking to, got upset with her. She stated that this happened because she got upset that he was talking to another female and he pushed her to the ground. That is when she picked up a glass bottle to try and get him away from her. He then took off running. 

Officer was dispatched to Marion Street. C/p stated that she let her cousin stay at her residence for two days. When she returned, she discovered two windows that’d been busted out. 

Officer responded to Walmart in reference to a shoplifting that occurred earlier in the day. C/p advised that on that morning a man attempted to leave the store with two air conditioning units and a microwave without paying. He was intercepted by an employee and left the store. Officer was later notified that the offender had stolen from Yard Master as well.

Officer was advised to report to Yard Master for a shoplifting. Officers met with the owner who stated that he had video footage of the offender and also had an employee there watering the plants who managed to get a photograph of the plate number. The offender was taken into custody.

911 dispatched officers to Lewis Street in reference to a c/p wanting a report about someone breaking into her house and pouring bleach on her clothes. C/p and her friend stated that someone broke into her house while she was at work. She stated that when she returned home her door was unlocked, and she could smell bleach as she walked in. Someone had cut up her couched and bleach had been poured on her furniture and clothes. She also noticed that two pair of shoes were missing. She said this could have possibly been her ex-girlfriend. 

July 3

Officer was at the huddle house when he saw the offender who had a criminal trespass warrant that he had not been served with. He explained the CTW and got the offender to sign. 

Officer was dispatched to East Pine Street to meet with EMS in reference to a domestic dispute. EMT advised that the victim had been kicked in the stomach during a fight with her boyfriend. She refused to give a statement and didn’t want to press charges. 

Officer responded to South Main Street for threatening texts. Officer made contact with c/p who stated that the offender was texting him threats of blowing up the building. 

July 4

Officer was dispatched to North Main Street in reference to a dispute that previously occurred. The c/p reported that 2 men were brought to Wendy’s and that they tried to start a fight with the victim. 

Officers were dispatched to Rainbow Ridge. Dispatcher advised that a male subject was fighting a female and then came out kicking over lit fireworks. It was stated that they got into an altercation, and he caused damage inside the house and one of the fireworks struck a child. No charges were made. 

July 5

911 dispatched officers to Lee Street in reference to a physical altercation that was in progress. The victim/c/p stated that her boyfriend had been accusing her of cheating and he began beating on her in front of her children.

Officer responded to Center Street in reference to a report of a man that would not leave. Offender was placed under arrest for disorderly conduct. 

Units were dispatched to Allen Street in reference to a male subject with a knife threatening to harm his child. The subject was identified and placed in handcuffs. 

Officer was advised that the offender was at SPD and has an active probation warrant. Offender was arrested.

July 6

Officer responded to Industrial Way in reference to stolen property. Two lawn mowers had been stolen valuing $22,250.05. 

Officer was dispatched to Project Street. Officers spoke with c/p who stated that she had been having problems with her ex. She stated that he had been texting and calling her and driving by her residence. 

Officer was dispatched to New Street in reference to a c/p wanting to report a broken tv. She stated that officers had come the night before for the same situation. The night before her child’s father wouldn’t leave her residence. They also refused to pay for the damage. 

Officer was dispatched to North Green Street in reference to an unwanted female subject. C/p stated that the woman keeps going to his residence, trashing his yard and stealing his money, and he no longer wants her there.

Officer traveled to Christopher Drive to assist ECSO with a man who had an active warrant. The offender was placed under arrest. The woman also had outstanding probation warrants but was not taken into custody due to a small child being home.
