Officers with the Swainsboro Police Department (SPD) reported…

June 18

Officers were dispatched to Liberty St. in reference to complainant wanting to make a report about damage to a vehicle. C/p stated offender was operating a vehicle when he got mad and lost control, striking another vehicle in the yard.

Officer was dispatched to EMC in reference to a male subject who was struck in the head with a beer bottle. Complainant stated he and his brother got into an argument and offender struck him over the head.

Officer observed a vehicle fail to use the turning lane, at which time he initiated a traffic stop. When the vehicle finally stopped, the driver bailed out and ran. After a flight of the area using the drone, offender was located.

Officer was dispatched to Racetrack St. in reference to a phone being stolen. Complainant stated she let her daughter borrow a phone and her daughter’s boyfriend took it and refused to give it back. C/p stated she went offender and when she asked him about the phone, he took off running.

June 19

Officer walked in Enmarket for a business check and the clerk stated a vehicle was parked at a gas pump for over 30 minutes and no one had gotten out and stated the driver was slumped over. Officer walked up to the driver’s door and observed the driver sleeping. Officer attempted several times to wake him up, but he did not move. Another officer arrived and advised the vehicle did not have valid insurance and the registration was cancelled. Officer called out to the driver a couple more times and he woke up and was very startled. Officer asked the driver what he was doing and he stated he got gas and officer advised him that he had not gotten gas at this point. Offender advised he had just gotten off work. Officer asked the driver to exit the vehicle and he could smell a faint odor of marijuana in the vehicle. Offender’s license is suspended. Offender was transported to EmCo Jail.

Officer observed a vehicle with very dark windows, at which time he initiated a traffic stop. Officer approached the driver and asked for his license to be told that he did not have them and gave his name and DOB. Officer could smell a strong odor of marijuana and asked the driver to step out of his vehicle. Offender then told officer he does not have a valid driver license and advised he had a gun in his vehicle and he is a convicted felon and a joint was in the ashtray. Offender was transported to EmCo Jail.

Officers were dispatched to S. Green St. in reference to a domestic dispute and theft of a phone. Complainant stated she and her boyfriend got into an argument and he slapped her in the face and took her children’s phone and left.

June 20

Officer took a walk-in report where complainant stated someone stole money from her EBT card.

June 21

Officer met with complainant at SPD in reference to someone threatening her bodily harm. C/p stated offender got mad with her and sent her a Facebook message stating he knew it was coming and when he sees her at Mike’s, she better have her pistol and the police ready. C/p was explained how to take a restraining order out.

Officer responded to EMC and was advised that a patient told staff she got into a physical altercation with her boyfriend. Officer met with c/p who stated she did not want to speak to police and did not want to make a report.

Officer was dispatched to SPD and met with complainant who advised a male was seen going through his trash can at the store and this has been going on for several weeks. The male subject was identified from video footage.

June 22

Officer was dispatched to Center St. in reference to a dispute between a male and female. Complainant stated he and the female got into an argument because she thought he was cheating on her and she grabbed a bicycle and began hitting his car with it. Officer observed damage to his vehicle and attempted to make contact with offender with no response. C/p stated offender was intoxicated.
