Officers with the Swainsboro Police Department (SPD) reported...

April 24

Officer conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle with a driver known to have a suspended license. A small amount of marijuana was located in the vehicle with a drug related object. Offender was arrested.

Officer met with complainant and her daughter in reference to an ongoing dispute between the daughter and her cousin. C/p stated that the cousin had been calling her daughter and threatening to fight her. The cousin stated that the daughter was also threatening her. Both were ruled equal in promoting and rejecting the fight. No charges were made.

C/p came into SPD to make a theft report. He stated that the offender took his cell phone.

Officers responded to SPD in reference to a walk-in report. C/p stated that she was at Southeastern Technical College to pick up er daughter from her dual enrollment class and there was a vehicle in the parking lot no one recognized. She stated that as she pulled out of the parking lot, the vehicle started following her and continued to follow her. She pulled over and the vehicle continued driving.

Offender was arrested for an active warrant.

Officer was patrolling the area of Project Street and Lewis Street in reference to a call about loud music. There was no loud music observed.

April 25

Officer responded to East Pine Street in reference to multiple individuals fighting. Upon arrival, officers made contact with a large group of people and were advised that the parties that were fighting had left the scene prior to arrival.

Officer exited his vehicle at Star Blazer to verify whether the establishment had a valid alcohol license. Officer was advised that they have a business license but not an alcohol license. The business was advised to shut down for the evening.

Officer responded to South Main Street for a 911 hang up call. The people in the parking lot stated that they did not call 911, then checked their phones and found that one of them had done it on accident.

Offer responded to Lewis Street in reference to the caller stating that five to six people were inside his residence without permission. Upon arrival, officer asked the caller where the people were. He then pointed to the pillows on the couch and stated, “right there”. He was advised that the objects were pillows and not individuals.

Emanuel County 911 dispatched officers to South Green Street in reference to a report of an intoxicated male beating on c/p’s door. The individual was inside the home upon arrival. The offender stated that they had been experiencing marital issues since he was laid off from his job. He was advised to sleep to de-escalate the situation.

Offender was arrested for an active warrant and possession of a schedule II-controlled substance.

Officer was dispatched to the area of Lewis Street in reference to loud music. The resident stated the music was turned off and it would not happen again.

Officer responded to Rainbow Ridge in reference to a domestic disturbance in progress. Dispatched advised they heard someone in the background yelling “get off of me”. Upon arrival, officers made contact with the homeowner, her son, and his son’s girlfriend. Her son stated that his girlfriend woke him up and they began arguing. He then left the room to get away and when he came back, she was going through his phone without permission. He asked for her phone and she refused, to which he grabbed it and threw it, breaking the screen. The girlfriend was advised not to return to the residence.

Officer responded to Lamb’s Bridge Road in reference to an unwanted person in the caller’s yard. C/p stated that the offender had been texting and calling him and had shown u to his residence twice that day. He further stated that the offender claimed c/p had been involved with his girlfriend. The offender fled the scene and after a search, officer found that offender had an active warrant out of Jenkins County. Offender was not located.

April 26

Officer responded to South Main Street in reference to a gas spill at the fuel pumps. C/p stated that while refueling her vehicle, gasoline began leaking from underneath the vehicle onto the parking lot. Swainsboro Fire was dispatched to the scene to contain and clean the fuel spill.

Officer responded to the area of South Anderson Drive and East Main Street in reference to a possible intoxicated male walking in the roadway. The male was arrested for public intoxication.

Emanuel County 911 advised officers to contact the dispatch center regarding a call for service at the Emanuel Medical Center Emergency Room in reference to an alleged sexual assault involving a two-year-old.

Officer was positioned at North Coleman Street in reference to aiding EMS with a possible overdose. The woman stated that she took all of her mental health pills at once because she was tired and broke and did not know how many she had taken. She was transported to the emergency room.

Officer was dispatched to East Pine Street in reference to a welfare check. C/p stated she was concerned about her sister. She stated that during a conversation her sister told her she was going to kill someone. The woman was located and no threatening behavior was indicated.

April 27

Officer responded to North Green Street in reference to a report of an unknown person attempting to remove air conditioner parts.

Officers were dispatched to Lee Street in reference to a 911 hang up call. The dispatcher stated she could hear two people arguing. Upon arrival, officer found two males arguing and yelling at each other. All parties were separated.

April 28

Officers were searching the area of Jerome Street for two males in reference to a shoplifting. Officer notified 911 that there was a barrel in the yard at the residence with smoke coming from it. The resident stated that she did have a fire lit and was cited due to the burn ban.

Officers were dispatched to Enmarket in reference to two males that shoplifted. Footage was viewed.

Officer met with c/p at SPD to file a report regarding a civil matter.

Officer responded to South Main Street to speak with c/p who stated that his license plate was missing off of his vehicle.

Officer was dispatched to the area of Howarth Drive and Stevens Drive in reference to loud music. The music did not seem to be loud, but the resident was advised to be mindful of neighbors.

Officer was dispatched to Bucklen Drive in reference to a 911 hang up call. Before arrival, 911 made contact with a male subject who dialed the wrong number.

April 29

Officer was dispatched to the area of Stewart Road and Watson Street in reference to two vehicles racing. All parties were separated.

Officers were dispatched to Lewis Street in reference to a male stating he needs help for his mother. Upon arrival, he stated that he couldn’t find his mother and that there were several people on the couch earlier. His daughter was called and she stated that he has dementia and it had been getting worse lately. He was transported to Emanuel Medical Center.

Officer met with c/p who stated that she went to the city cemetery to visit deceased family members and someone stole money from her purse.

April 30

911 dispatched officers to Industrial Way in reference to a dispute between c/p and her boyfriend. Both parties were separated.

Officer responded to Harmon Park in reference to someone wanting to make a report. C/p stated that he was fishing in one of the ponds when he was approached by the suspect. He wanted to show him what he uses to fish and popped his truck, so c/p ran away and called his mom. The suspect stated that he just wanted to show the kid what he had and showed officers several tackle boxes which had rubber grubs in them.

C/p approached officer to make a report regarding harassment by offender. She stated that she and the offender broke up and he would not leave her alone. She stated that she wished to pursue a TPO.

Officer responded to College Street in reference to a dispute. All parties were separated.
