Officers with the Swainsboro Police Department (SPD) reported...

May 7

Officer responded to Electric Drive in reference to a damage to vehicle report. The offender opened his driver’s side door too far, causing it to strike the rear right fender of the victim’s vehicle.

May 8

Officer walked outside of SPD and observed a vehicle in the parking lot. The driver stated that her child’s father pointed a gun at her and pistol whipped her with it. She stated he then shot twice into the air and made her pull over and stated he would shoot her if she didn’t. All of this was done in the presence of children. SPD officers searched several areas to try and locate the offender but were unable to do so.

Officer was dispatched to Lee Street in reference to a 911 call from a third party reporting an active domestic dispute. C/p and victim stated that the offender had just fled out of the rear of the residence toward New Street. The offender was located and arrested.

Officer responded to McDonald’s to assist A DJJ Officer with an irate juvenile. The juvenile was arrested.

Officer responded to SPD in reference to a walk-in report. C/p stated that he and offender had a verbal agreement for some work. He further stated that he and offender agreed that he was to do some work for offender and be paid for that work. He then stated that after the work was complete, offender was claiming that the price was too much.

Officer responded to SPD in reference to a walk-in report. C/p stated that recently a female came by her house with information in attempts to sell life insurance. She further stated that she gave her information including bank information. Upon trying to call the female back, she kept telling her she was busy with a client and couldn’t talk. Later her card was charged, and she also received a check for cancellation of a life insurance policy.

Officer responded to Walmart in reference to a welfare check on a child left in a vehicle unattended. Upon arrival three small children were observed in a vehicle. The kids did not appear to be in distress. The mother of the children approached and was advised of the dangers of leaving children in a vehicle unattended.

Officer was dispatched to East Main Street in reference to a stolen freezer complaint. C/p stated that she ordered a freezer from Walmart and had it delivered to her mother’s address. She advised that when the freezer did not arrive, she checked the tracking that stated it had been delivered says prior. The delivery photo placed it in front of an apartment to which a male subject answered the door. After not cooperating with police, it was found the male had an active warrant. Offender was arrested.

Emanuel County 911 dispatched officers to Allen Street in reference to a verbal altercation. C/p advised that one of the boys was attempting to fight him and that he did not want them at the residence. Upon arrival in the area, officer observed several juveniles walking west on Modoc Road matching the description. The juvenile voluntarily returned to the residence so both sides of the incident could be obtained. The situation was resolved.

Officer responded to East Pine Street in reference to an unruly juvenile. The juvenile stated that her aunt, the c/p, was upset due to school-related issues and took her tablet for disciplinary reasons. Officer was later advised that the tablet was shattered during the struggle over possession of the device. C/p stated she did not want the juvenile in her residence. DJJ officer was contacted who stated that if there was no other family member over the age of 21 that the juvenile could stay with, she had to stay at the residence.

May 9

Officer was dispatched to the ER in reference to a female who had checked in with injuries. ER staff stated that an unresponsive female had been dropped off in the parking lot. The female had suffered two brain hemorrhages but there were no visible arks or injuries observed that would have indicated the cause.

Officer met with c/p who stated that his camper on North Main Street had been tampered with. He stated that he had friends staying in the camper and the friend invited offender over who was not welcome. The offender had cut a wire on the camper. C/p stated he would rather have offender pay for the damages than press charges.

May 10

Emanuel County 911 dispatched officers to the Rodeway Inn in reference to a c/p requesting assistance with remaining in a room. Officer approached the room and the occupant stated that she traveled to the area in order to get away from family members who were “not doing right by her”. She stated that she came with a woman who helps with people who need a place to stay. The woman had contacted her stating that she could no longer pay for the room.

Officer spoke with c/p who came to SPD to make a report in reference to possible child abandonment. C/p stated that her goddaughter was dropped off at her residence to stay with her temporarily. Upon attempting to take her back to her legal guardian, the guardian advised that the juvenile was not welcome back. The offender later regained custody due to being the legal guardian.

Officer responded to South Main Street in reference to a person wanting to make a report. Officer met with c/p and his daughter. C/p stated that he went to offender’s house to pick up his daughter after she called him crying. The daughter stated that her mother pushed her out of her room, told her to leave, then slammed and locked the bedroom door. The mother stated that the father has “brainwashed” the child.

Officer was dispatched to Shearhouse Street interference to a loud music complaint. The resident complied and turned the music down.

Officer responded to North Green Street in reference to a burglary that occurred the previous night. C/p stated that a similar incident had occurred prior to this date an that the suspect had taken a watch during the incident.

May 11

Officer was dispatched to South Main Street in reference to a theft. C/p stated that a male stole $158.12 worth of items and left the location. They further stated that the male went to purchase the items and the transaction only went through for $1. When told he needed to pay the remaining cost, the offender grabbed the items and left the store.

Officer responded to Harmon Park in reference to a complaint of four juveniles allowing their dogs to attack geese. Officers made contact with two women who stated that the dogs never attacked anything but were barking. The dogs were observed to be on leashes.

May 12

Officer was dispatched to Rentz Street in reference to the caller stating that his ex-girlfriend had broken his window and vandalized his house. C/p stated that he had just returned home from work and observed that flour and syrup had been scattered throughout his bedroom.

Officer responded to Enmarket in reference to a fender bender in the parking lot. One of the individuals gave identification and was found to be a wanted person. Offender was arrested.

Officer responded to New Street in reference to a dispute between two males. All parties were separated.

May 13

Officers responded to McLeod Bridge Road in reference to a criminal trespass complaint involving damage to a vehicle. C/p stated that her vehicle had been parked at the located when an unknown person punctured two tires.

May 14

Officer responded to South Green Street in reference to a subject with an active warrant. Offender was arrested.

Emanuel County 911 dispatched officers to Walmart in reference to someone needing to make a report of stolen Monet. C/p stated that when paying for her items she selected to received $20 cash back and forgot to grab the money when she left. When she realized, she returned to the store and the money was gone.

Emanuel County 911 dispatched officers to Electric Road in reference to a possible contempt of court order violation. C/p and victims stated that they both currently have a restraining order against offender. They stated that earlier the offender was yelling at them while at the gas pumps at Enmarket.

Officer conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle with no insurance. Vehicle was towed.

Officer responded to a single-vehicle crash at East Main Street and Fortune Loop Road. The vehicle had no occupants. C/p stated she observed a male leaving the scene attempting to get to Georgia Southern for graduation. After graduation, officer returned and the vehicle was gone.

Officers responded to East Main Street in reference to c/p stating that her boyfriend had taken her phone and would not return it. Both parties were separated.
