Officers with the Swainsboro Police Department (SPD) reported...

March 13

Officer was dispatched to Project St. in reference to caller wanting to make a report about illegal activity involving illegal drug sales and a semi-truck parking on Lewis St.

Officers were dispatched to Anderson Dr. in reference to an oil spill up to Fairground Rd.

Officer responded to Lucky St. in reference to a single gunshot.

Officers responded to Williams Rountree St. in reference to a house fire with a male subject inside. After multiple attempts to get inside, entry was made by kicking the door in. Officers attempted to enter but was unable to go far due to heavy smoke and fire. Firefighters arrived and was able to get the victim out who was badly burned and not breathing. CPR was performed by officer until EMS arrived. Victim was transported to EMC ER.

March 14

Officers were dispatched to Easy Stop in reference to a disorderly female who urinated on the floor. Complainant stated the female entered the store highly intoxicated and asked to use the restroom and c/p advised her the store did not have a public restroom and offender became irate and pulled her pants down and urinated on the floor then exited the store.

Officers were dispatched to Rainbow Ridge in reference to caller stating a female was being attacked by her boyfriend. Officer approached the front door and observed a male, female and juvenile, with no signs of an altercation or assault.

Officers were dispatched to De’Alva Park in reference to loud music. Male subject stated he would turn the music down. Later that night, officers were dispatched back to the park for the same complaint. Offender was advised the music needed to be turned off due to multiple complaints. Officers also observed debris on the park grounds and addressed the issue with offender who stated he spoke with the individual responsible for the park and had an agreement to return the following day to clean it up.

Officers were dispatched to Racetrack St. in reference to complainant stating he was pushed out of his home, and his phone was taken from him by his wife. C/p was intoxicated and slurring, along with not being able to complete coherent sentences.

Officer responded to King Circle Dr. in reference to threats. Complainant stated she went to get her child from the child’s father because he was selling drugs around the child and they began arguing. C/p’s mother stated she went up to the house to get her grandchild and her daughter, and the child’s father’s mother told her to leave and told someone to go get her gun. Offender’s mother stated c/p is upset because offender has another female pregnant.

Officer responded to Lake Luck Dr. in reference to a dispute.

Officers responded to Swainsboro Apts. in reference to a male subject entering vehicles. Contact was made with the juvenile, and he was in possession of a nicotine vape, marijuana blunt, lighter and marijuana. Juvenile was transported to SPD and DJJ, DFCS and his grandmother were notified.

Officers responded to Grady St. in reference to an animal bite. Complainant stated she was on her way to a friend’s house when the dog ran out and bit her. It was determined that the dog had not been vaccinated and AC1 was notified. Victim had a few minor marks on her elbow.

Officer was dispatched to Robin Rd. in reference to a welfare check. Caller stated she was on the phone with her daughter who was having an argument with her boyfriend and the call suddenly disconnected. Contact was made with the daughter who appeared to be sweating profusely. C/p advised she left town for the weekend and had suspicion that her boyfriend was cheating so she installed a camera in their bedroom and when she returned, she observed another female in their bed. C/p stated she confronted him and it led to a verbal altercation that turned physical.

Officers were dispatched to Oaklawn Dr. in reference to a side-by-side driving too fast for conditions.

Officers were dispatched to Easy Stop in reference to money being taken from the store. Complainant stated offender stole money and cut the safe behind the register to make entry. C/p stated they had a video of all events and officer watched it. Officer observed offender on the phone while her boyfriend cut open the safe with a Sawzall and pull out four envelopes and a Ziploc bag of money. Offender then walked into the slot machine room and set the envelopes and bag on a seat and could be heard stating the amount written on each envelope. Officer then observed offender leave the store. Offender then returned and went to the office door and kicked the door open and was observed sitting down at the desk and opening drawers and the safe. Offender then started placing money on the desk and was observed going back to the front behind the register and putting money for the cashier on shift into a lock box on a desk in the register area. Offender then left the store for a second time. Total amount taken from the store was $16,536. Officers went to offenders’ residence on Industrial Way and transported offender to the store.

March 15

Officer was dispatched to Roger Shaw St. in reference to a medical call. Caller stated he was experiencing back pain and needed to be evaluated. EMS arrived and took over.

Officer responded to Modoc Rd. in reference to a domestic dispute. Officers responded to Dollar General in reference to shoplifting. Offender was confronted by the store manager and threw the item on the floor and ran out. C/p requested offender be criminally trespassed from the property.

Officers were dispatched to Advance St. in reference to an altercation between sisters.

Officers were dispatched to Williams St. in reference to a 30-year-old male needing assistance. Victim stated he had been riding his bicycle and was not feeling well and wanted to be checked by EMS. Victim was evaluated but declined transport. Officer ran victim’s info to find he had an active warrant out of Gwinnett Co. but it had a 50-mile radius for pickup. Victim was advised about the warrant and stated he would contact Gwinnett Co. regarding the warrant and left on his bicycle in a hurried manner.

Officer responded to McLeod Bridge Rd. in reference to a 911 hang-up call. Complainant stated she saw a juvenile walking at a group of kids with his hand in his pants like he had a firearm. C/p’s child stated offender was chasing him and others with a piece of glass trying to cut them. DJJ was notified and stated he would be by the residence the following day. Offender was transported to his house on Lucky St. and officer spoke with his mother who stated she has had a lot of problems with him, and he had been kicked out of school for being bad. Officer spoke with offender and advised him that he is in a lot of trouble for what happened.

Officer was dispatched to Short St. in reference to an intoxicated male subject. Officer made contact with offender who initially refused to comply with verbal commands and stated he had rights and had done nothing wrong. Offender initially refused to provide his ID and continued to act uncooperative and argumentative during the investigation. Offender continued to loudly yell and use vulgar and profane language in a public place and was arrested for disorderly conduct. Offender was transported to EmCo Jail.

Officer was dispatched to N Coleman St. in reference to caller stating someone entered her hone and stole her Adderall. Complainant stated she had just had it filled and there were 29 pills in the bottle.

Officers were dispatched to MLK Blvd. in reference to a pedestrian versus vehicle accident. Officers observed a male lying face down in the grass and carefully rolled him over to check for a pulse. EMS arrived and the victim regained consciousness and transported him to EMC. Officers attempted to locate any surveillance and was advised of a witness sitting in Chaopman Funeral Home parking lot. Officers made contact who stated she observed a male subject in her driver-side mirror crossing the road and a dark-colored vehicle approaching the intersection. The driver of the vehicle returned to the scene and made contact with officers and GSP.

March 16

Officer responded to Mary Ann St. in reference to someone trying to get into the residence. Complainant stated she heard someone outside her bedroom window beating on it.

Officer was dispatched to Pratt Avenue in reference to an active domestic dispute. Upon arrival, officers made contact with c/p who stated that he was attempting to leave the residence to run errands and planned on taking his son with him. He stated that his girlfriend who is also the mother of the child snatched the child from his arms which led to a verbal argument between the two. He then stated that he decided to call the police and she left the residence. The mother of the child stated that the two had a verbal argument over a minor issue and that c/p stated he was going to Statesboro and was taking the child with him. She then stated that due to a storm coming that she did not want her son going with his father. She then left the residence.

Officer was dispatched to Lucky Street in reference to meeting with c/p wanting to talk to officers about an incident happening earlier in the day. C/p stated that she had been home when her ex-boyfriend came into her house to talk to her, and she told him she did not want to talk so he left. She stated he later came back along with his mother. She stated that the mother pulled her hair and threw clothes and some other items all over the residence. She was advised on how to get a TPO.

Officers were dispatched to Allen Street in reference to the caller stating there was a man who she did not know at her door. Before arriving on scene Emanuel County 911 received a call stating that he was there to see about two female juveniles. It was found that there was an altercation over rumors spread at school and the parents agreed to let the juveniles talk it out.

March 17

911 dispatched officers to a welfare check on Mary Ann Street. After not being able to locate the subject, she was contacted via cell phone and was safe.

Officer took a walk in report at SPD regarding fraudulent bank card transactions. C/p provided a form documenting several transactions charged to his account that he did not authorize.

Officer was initially dispatched to the area of South Main Street and Swainsboro High School for a vehicle crash. Officer was then notified that the accident had occurred earlier in the day and that the caller was then located at Roger Shaw Street. C/p stated that she was exiting the high school when she was struck from behind by offender and then obtained all of his information.

911 dispatched officers to Louise Street for a female trying to fight everyone. Offender was arrested.

Officer was dispatched to King Circle Drive in reference to a stolen package. C/p stated that she received a message that a package for her mother had arrived but were nowhere to be found. She stated that she wanted to make a report because she felt as if she was being accused of stealing the package.

911 dispatched officers to Ay Way Resto Bar in reference to a fight in progress. Upon arrival, all offenders had left the scene.

Officer was dispatched to Allen Street in reference to an unwanted person, but the caller hung up before 911 could get any more information. The homeowner advised that she did not call 911.

March 18

Officers responded to Highway 56 North in reference to a female with known mental issues walking along the roadway after leaving her doctor’s office. She was transported to Emanuel County Emergency Room.

Officer took a report on College Street. C/p stated that her neighbors play loud music throughout the evening and she wanted them to be contacted to stop.

March 19

Officer responded to Lewis Street in reference to a dispute. C/p stated that she had just moved into the residence. She stated that when she arrived home her son was inside with a female. She told him that he could not be bringing people in and out over there and that he needed to go. A criminal trespass notice was requested.

Officer responded to Curtis Street in reference to a female stating her husband had locked her out of the residence. Upon arrival, the husband stated that he wanted her to leave. Her items were retrieved and she left the residence.

Officers were dispatched to Kite Road in reference to a mental health patient who was being irate. The situation was resolved.

Officer responded to the area of Tiger Trail near Lambs Bridge Road in reference to a male walking that appeared to be disoriented with a revolver on his hip. He stated that he walks out of the city limits and shoots the revolver and did not appear to be disoriented during the encounter.

Officers responded to New Street in reference to a welfare check. All appeared to be safe.

Officer responded to Jerome Street in reference to a dog being shot. The dog was not located, and it was found that he ran off into the woods.

Officers were dispatched to Harmon Park in reference to a reported alligator. No alligator was located.
