January 22
Officer responded to Booker Street in reference to the complainant having issues with her daughters. She stated that her oldest was using her phone to communicate with a boyfriend whom she did not want her daughter to talk to. She requested both daughters’ phones and both became very irate. Officer suggested that the parties separate for the day and the juveniles went to their grandmother's house.
The complainant/victim came to SPD to report stalking by her ex-boyfriend. She stated that after she blocked his number and told him to stop contacting her, she began receiving multiple “No Caller ID” calls. She was explained the process of obtaining a TPO.
Officer responded to Walmart in reference to a request in checking on an older male who got mad with employees in the store. Contact was made with the male, and he stated that he went to get money that was sent to him and Walmart would not allow him to do it. He did not understand that for a money transfer, you have to give them a security pin to access the funds.
Officer responded to South Main Street in reference to a report. C/p stated that he was out of town over the weekend and received a call from other employees informing him of a situation with a customer. He provided footage of an older male subject walking up to one of the waitresses and putting his hands on her shoulder from behind her while she was sweeping under the table. He was also standing very close to her and moving his hips from side to side. There was another incident where the offender entered the supply closet and would not let the female employees leave the room.
Officers responded to Mable Avenue to an entering auto. C/p stated she had withdrawn a $50 bill from the bank to pay the dog groomer and then went to the laundromat to retrieve her clothes, and then to pay her bill. She then found that the cash was missing from her vehicle. She stated that her ex-girlfriend parked next to her at the laundromat but never entered the building.
Officer responded to Mary Ann Street in reference to a suspicious person on the front porch of an apartment. The suspicious person was not located.
Offender was arrested for a probation violation.
January 23
Officer was dispatched to Dandelion Street in reference to a 911 hangup call. The resident stated that he and his wife were both asleep and did not make the call.
Officer responded to West Main Street in reference to a wanted person. Offender was arrested.
Officer responded to Center Street. C/p stated that there had been a fight on the school but and that there were several students involved. All parties were separated and the matter will be addressed with the school system.
January 24
Officer took a walk-in report at SPD. C/p stated that the offender took money from her vehicle during the early morning hours of January 23 while it was parked at Enmarket. She stated that the offender is her boyfriend’s girlfriend and they are involved in a three-way relationship. She advised that the offender became angry when c/p received money from their boyfriend and took $1,100 in cash from her.
Officer was dispatched to Turner Drive in reference to a female wanting to file a report. C/p stated she and her ex-boyfriend had broken up earlier in the day and he was texting and calling her and would not leave her alone. A few days later she stated that she no longer wanted to press charges.
Officers responded to West Main Street in reference to a shoplifter. C/p stated that a young male entered the store and asked about a phone charger. He then became upset when he learned the price was not what he expected. He then began opening the package and c/p asked if he was planning to steal the charger, to which he stated yes. He then ran out of the store and fled.
Officer responded to Carver Street in reference to a domestic. C/p stated that the father of her child had the child the night prior. She stated that he did not have food for the child, so she advised him to bring them back the morning of the incident so the child could eat. When he brought the child back, and argument occurred and the offender struck c/p’s face and slammed her to the ground. Offender was arrested.
Officer was dispatched to Mary Ann Street in reference to a subject having a medical crisis. As officers spoke with the subject, he collapsed and EMS was called.
Officer was dispatched to Pughsley Street in reference to a welfare check on a male subject who was not responding to family phone calls. It was found that the subject had been sick. Officer was dispatched to Stevens Drive in reference to a noise complaint. The residents were advised to keep the noise down.
Officer responded to D&I Food Store in reference to a subject not leaving the property. The offender left before officer arrival.
January 25
911 dispatched officers to Rentz Street in reference to c/p stating his wife hit him in the face. C/p stated he approached his wife about a vehicle in their driveway and accused her of cheating on him, and she then struck him in the face. He was calm but had an odor of alcoholic beverage coming from his person. When he told the story a second time he stated she confronted him for being gone too long to a friend’s house where he lost money, so she hit him.
Officer was dispatched to turner Drive in reference to an unwanted person in the yard of the residence. The caller stated that the male subject had left before police arrival.
911 dispatched officers to McDonald’s in reference to a male subject wanting to make a report of missing money.
911 dispatched officers to Wendy’s in reference to a verbal altercation in the parking lot. All parties were separated.
January 26
Officer responded to El Valle Mexican Restaurant in reference to a white male refusing to pay for his meal and becoming irate with restaurant staff. The offender stated that he had been overcharged and appeared to be highly intoxicated. Offender was placed under arrest for theft of services, after being handcuffed he stated that he would pay the bill and was released.
Officer assisted deputies and other officers on Sunset Drive for a search of a residence.
Officer took a report at SPD. C/p stated that his handgun was stolen from his vehicle.
911 dispatched officers to Pratt Avenue in reference to a mother wanting to get her child from the father and leave the residence.
Officer responded to West MLK Blvd in reference to a 911 texting request to speak to an officer. C/p stated that he felt like he had been scammed due to making payments on a truck and never receiving the truck.
C/p came into SPD to report that someone stole a check belonging to her business.
January 27
Offender was arrested for an active warrant.
Officers responded to Pratt Avenue in reference to an attempted break-in of a shed.
Officer responded to West Moring Street in reference to a suspected burglary in process call. It was determined that the offender was the girlfriend of the resident and was retrieving personal property.
January 28
Officer responded to East Church Street in reference to a suspicious vehicle parked on private property. C/p advised that the vehicle had been parked there for several hours.
Officer responded to Pine Needle Lane in reference to a welfare check on a subject. Negative contact was made.
Officer was dispatched to Alice Circle in reference to a subject trying to fight people. Offender was arrested.
Officer responded to South Main Street in reference to a motor vehicle accident with injuries. While investigating bruises were located on a female subject that would not have come from the accident. She stated that a male subject had hurt her. She could not remember where she was and would not give his name.
January 29
Officer was dispatched to West Street in reference to a complainant reporting an individual threatening him with a gun. All parties were separated.
Officer responded to Waller Drive in reference to two dogs attacking c/p.
Officer took a walk-in report at SPD. C/p stated that she was looking after someone’s residence while they were incarcerated and noticed his vehicle had damage to it.
Officer was dispatched to Thigpen Drive in reference to an assist to a subject having a medical crisis. C/p advised that her mother was in the early stages of dementia. She advised that her mom thought that she and her sisters were trying to kill her by giving her pills that were poisonous.
Officer was dispatched to MLK Blvd in reference to a 911 hang up call. Resident advised that everything was okay.
Officer was dispatched to West Church Street in reference to a noise complaint. No loud music was heard from the residence.
