February 5

911 dispatched officers to Rainbow Ridge in reference to a trailer on the complainant’s property. C/p stated that she had just gotten home from work and noticed a trailer in her yard that was loaded down with miscellaneous items. Trailer was towed.

Officer initiated a traffic stop on West Main Street due to a vehicle having expired registration. The vehicle increased speed and later turned into Emanuel Medical Center’s parking lot and stopped. The driver was found to have a suspended license and was arrested.

Officers were dispatched to the intersection of Kite Highway and West Main Street in reference to a trailer being in the middle of the intersection. After speaking with the owners of the trailer, they explained that the tongue on it broke, and they were getting equipment to move it.

Officer responded to Dollar General in reference to an abandoned vehicle. An employee explained that the vehicle had been parked in the parking lot for about a week and a half.

Officer was dispatched to Lucky Street in reference to a motor vehicle crash on private property. Offender stated that she backed into a vehicle while trying to leave to take the dog to the vet.

Officer was dispatched to South Green Street in reference to a 911 hang up call. A check of the residence was done with negative contact.

Officer was in the parking lot of Tom’s Pawn Shop in reference to a hit and run with damage. 911 advised that an 18-wheeler rear ended a vehicle and did not stop. The driver stated that she and her friend were turning into the Sonic parking lot when the truck rear ended her and continued south.

911 dispatched officers to King Circle Drive in reference to a request for a report regarding child custody and a dispute that occurred over the phone. C/p stated that he contacted his child’s mother because their child was out of milk. He stated that dispute occurred due to an argument about money and obtaining milk. He stated that he wanted a report for court documentations.

February 6

911 dispatched officers to East MLK Blvd in reference to a complaint of an unknown person knocking on the residence’s door for approximately 15 minutes. No subjects were located after a search.

Officer was dispatched to North Main Street in reference to a report of a white male trespassing on the caller’s property. C/p identified the male and stated that he had already left the property. He explained that the offender had been on the property visiting someone who is residing in a camper located on the property. He stated that he was going out of town and did not want offender visiting while he was away.

Officer responded to South Main Street in reference to a caller stating that someone was trying to throw an item through his window. It was found that the same c/p has made the same calls on two other dates and was believed to be under the influence of drugs. He advised that he had used methamphetamine and was advised to go to Emanuel Medical Center and seek treatment and he denied.

Officer was dispatched to Pughsley Street in reference to EMS requesting assistance with a patient who had coded. Officer assisted with loading the patient onto the ambulance and escorted then to Emanuel Medical Center.

Offender was arrested for an active warrant.

February 7

Officer was on duty at SPD when c/p approached him regarding a complaint involving her previous landlord. She advised that her residence is uninhabitable due to a recent fire. She stated that she purchased a washer and dryer from a family member and her landlord took possession of it.

Officer was dispatched to North Main Street in reference to a female subject harassing the caller. C/p stated that a female subject had been threatening her via text message. She was advised of the process of obtaining a TPO.

Officers were dispatched to King Circle Drive in reference to a domestic in progress. Upon arrival a male and female were seen walking out in the yard. The female subject stated that the two had a three month old together and she had never kept the child from the father. She further stated that the father had the baby since that Tuesday and told her she could get her back on Saturday, but pushed it to Sunday or Monday. She stated that she wanted the baby home due to sickness going around and her being so little. The male stated that the female was receiving help from Ogeechee Behavioral and has made comments regarding not wanting the baby. She stated that she was feeling a lot better and left the residence with the baby.

Officers were dispatched to West Main Street in reference to the caller stating a female subject had been abused. The victim stated that she had been having issues with the offender all day, who is her fiancée. She stated that she just wanted to make sure he did not get near her.

Officer responded to Buddy’s on West Moring Street in reference to an irate male. Upon arrival, officer heard offender arguing with a female inside the building. He stated that his wife had called the location because they wanted to return property they were renting. He further stated that an employee had disrespected his wife, but all employees denied that allegation. Offender was trespassed.

Officer was dispatched to Lucky Street in reference to a 911 hang up call. A male subject advised that he pressed the wrong button and did it on accident.

Officer conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle with suspended registration and the owner having a suspended driver’s license. Officer could also smell an odor of alcoholic beverage coming from the vehicle and an open container was located. Offender was arrested.

February 8

Officer was patrolling the area of South Main Street when someone on a bicycle was observed with no front light. After initiating a traffic stop, the subject refused to stop. A search was conducted, and marijuana was located. Offender was arrested.

Officer was dispatched to the Sunset Inn in reference to a report of property damage. C/p stated that one of the rooms was heavily soiled with trash and animal feces. The sheetrock walls, carpet, beds, and furniture were damaged and needed to be replaced. He identified the tenant and estimated the total cost of the damage to be between $5,500 and $8,000.

Officer responded to East Main Street in reference to an unresponsive male who was cold to the touch. C/p stated that he had come to check on the male and bring him lunch. The subject was pronounced deceased.

February 9

Officer responded to King Circle Drive in reference to a parent who had boarded the school bus and refused to exit. The woman stated that the previous Friday, her son had fallen asleep on the bus and the bus driver grabbed him by his bookbag and hoodie and pushed him down the aisle and the stairs. She stated that she was trying to have a calm conversation when the bus driver began yelling at her.

Officer conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle with what appeared to be illegal tint and the driver not having a seatbelt on. After not being able to locate a driver’s license, the driver began fleeing on foot. The offender was taken into custody and arrested.

911 dispatched officers to Prosperity Drive in reference to a complaint. C/p stated that she observed two males with tools in her yard via her cameras. No contact was made.

Officer was dispatched to Emanuel Medical Center in reference to a female attempting to leave the facility despite having a signed 10-13 form. She stated that she had been there for hours, but was advised that she could not leave the emergency room until she was cleared.

Officer conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle with an expired tag and no insurance. Insurance was obtained on the scene.

Officer conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle that pulled out in front of another vehicle’s lane of travel. The driver was found to have a suspended license and was arrested.

February 10

Officer took a report at SPD from a couple. They stated that they had been harassed by a female via phone for about a year and a half.

Officer conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle traveling 50 mph in a 35 mph zone. The vehicle was found to have no insurance and suspended registration. Someone picked her up and vehicle was towed.

Officer responded to Stevens Drive in reference to a report. C/p stated that his neighbor came and knocked on the door and stated that their dog came to their house and attacked another dog and killed it. Contact was made with the neighbor who stated that same thing. No charges were made.

Officers responded to Kite Road in reference to a mental health patient attempting to leave the location. The woman was convinced to return.

Officers responded to Hickory Trace Circle in reference to a call for service dispatched through Emanuel County 911. The caller reported several children throwing a ball near his vehicle. C/p stated that the apartment complex has a rule against ball playing. The children were advised not to throw the ball around the car anymore.

Officer responded to Carver Street in reference to a vehicle hitting a mailbox. C/p stated that the residence belonged to his grandmother who had recently passed away. Contact was made with the father of the caller.

Officer was dispatched to Latitude 105 in reference to a c/p wishing to make a report regarding his mail being opened. C/p stated that he retrieved his mail from an apartment and some of it had been opened and contained personal information, including his Social Security number and tax information.

Officer responded to Tiger Trail in reference to an unruly child call. The child stated that her mother took her cell phone because she did not clean the house to her mother’s satisfaction. She stated that she and her mother then argued and called each other names. She stated that multiple times her mother tried to hit her out of discipline and she stopped her. Her mother stated that she was trying to get her son back in his car seat and was not trying to hit her. The mother was advised of options and resources to help with the child’s behavior.

Officers were dispatched to W Church St. in reference to a 911 hang-up call.

Officers were dispatched to Rainbow Ridge in reference to complainant’s ex-boyfriend attempting to enter her residence.

February 11

Officer responded to Piggly Wiggly in reference to shoplifters.

Complainant advised an unknown individual entered his vehicle and took his pistol.

Officer responded to Swainsboro Dialysis in reference to a general alarm.

Officer responded to EMC ER in reference to a female being drugged by a male subject who started feeling on her and touching her.

February 12

Officer was dispatched to S Racetrack St. in reference to a possible assault. Offender was placed under arrest for battery and transported to EmCo Jail.

Officer was dispatched to S. Main St. in reference to theft of services.

Officer took a walk-in report where complainant stated his dog was killed on Abundance St. by his neighbor’s dog.

Officer was dispatched to WalMart in reference to a stolen wallet. Complainant stated she left her wallet unattended with $800, her SS card, DL and debit cards in it. Video footage observed offender take the wallet from a bench and place it in the buggy, but never turned it in. Offender’s vehicle was identified and contacted offender’s mother.

Officer was dispatched to Ay Wey in reference to a customer refusing to pay his bill. Offender stated he initially refused to pay his bill due to an automatic gratuity being added and felt like it was incorrect.

Officer responded to S. Green St. in reference to a dispute.
