The Swainsboro Rotary Club met at Rustic Grill on Monday, Oct. 2, during the noon hour. District Governor Felix Smith was the guest speaker and gave an update on all the events that were happening with Rotary around the state and nation. He is a member of the Perry Rotary
Club and was 2014 Rotarian of the Year. Smith’s platform for Rotary is literacy. He has been working with a school in Houston County to increase the literacy numbers and encouraged the club to do the same. Smith also discussed Rotary’s involvement in Polio Eradication and Alzheimer’s Research. The next meeting will be held Monday, Oct. 16.
