The Emanuel County Board of Education met on Tuesday, May 9, 2023, at 5:30 p.m. at the Central Office with the following members in attendance: Del Brown, Mason Henry, Cherie Hooks, Tanya Lane, Johnny Parker, and Sandra Swinney. Absent was John Allen Bailey. Mason Henry welcomed everyone to the meeting and delivered the invocation followed by Johnny Parker leading the Pledge of Allegiance. The agenda was approved as presented.
SUPERINTENDENT’S COMMENTS
Emanuel County Institute Principal, Anetria Edenfield, and Swainsboro High School Principal, Brandon Andrews, gave updates on both high school’s upcoming track team events.
Tammy Gray recognized the following recipients for the F.A.M.I.L.Y., P.A.U.S.E. and S.A.S. Awards for the month of April 2023: Ashley Love – Gifted Teacher at Swainsboro Middle, received the F.A.M.I.L.Y. award for the month of April; Isabel Gonzalez Demillion – 4th Grade student at Swainsboro Elementary, received the P.A.U.S.E. award for the month of April; Pate Stapleton – Parapro at Swainsboro Primary and Allisyn Wadley – Parapro at the Early Learning
Center, received the S.A.S. award for the month of April.
Dr. Denise Warnock recognized the 2022/2023 Valedictorians and Salutatorians
