Seven Bulldogs selected as All-State

ECI Baseball players received post season awards last week. The State Runners-up placed seven players on the Class A all-state team. Four players were selected as first team all-state while three other players made second team all-state. Bryce Kearson was selected as first team pitcher-shortstop. The senior right hander as 11-2 this season with a 1.54 ERA. At the plate, Bryce batted .402 with 30 stolen bases. Hudson Henry, playing second and short for the Bulldogs this season, was selected all-state at middle infield. The junior posted a .402 batting average at the plate and led the team with eight homeruns. Jacob Durden pitching and playing first for ECI, was selected first team first baseman. Jacob batted .342 with a .962 fielding percentage.

Rounding out the Bulldog infield, Lawson Mercer made all-state at third base. Lawson batted .402 his senior season and was on Hudson’s heels with seven homeruns.

The Bulldogs had three players on the second team all-state team. Roaming around the centerfield position was PJ Farnum. PJ had a .352 batting average, 20 stolen bases with a .978 fielding percentage. At catcher was Gabe Lee who was also selected as second team all-state. Gabe had a .996 fielding percentage behind the plate with a .401 batting average. Tuff Boddiford played right field and third for the Bulldogs this season. Tuff was selected as second team at third base. The freshman posted a .302 batting average.
