Aubrey Scott collected three hits in five at bats, as David Emanuel Academy Varsity Lady Eagles defeated Thomas Jefferson Academy Varsity Jaguars 13-2 on Monday, September 21, at Thomas Jefferson Academy. Scott tripled in the first inning, and singled in the sixth and seventh innings.
Lady Eagles got on the board in the top of the first inning after Kaley Flowers laid down a sacrifice bunt, and Emily McRae singled down the left field line, each scoring one run. They added to their early lead in the top of the second inning after Lexie Starley singled down the right field line, Flowers singled down the left field line, and Payton Peebles tripled down the right field line, each scoring one run. Then added one run in the third after Evie Moore hit a sacrifice fly.
Lady Eagles scored six runs on six hits in the top of the seventh inning. An error scored one run, Bailey McNure singled, scoring one run, Moore doubled, scoring one run, Carrie Johnson grounded out, scoring two runs, and Rayleigh Faircloth singled, scoring one run.
Faircloth earned the win for Lady Eagles, allowing two hits and two runs (one earned) over seven innings, striking out six and walking none. Charli Parrish took the loss for Varsity Jaguars. The hurler went one and two-thirds innings, giving up five runs (four earned) on six hits, striking out one and walking none.
Lady Eagles tallied 14 hits in the game. Flowers, Faircloth, and Moore each drove in two runs and McNure and Peebles each collected multiple hits.
Reese Miller and Chelsey Miller were a force together in the lineup, as they each collected one hit for Varsity Jaguars while hitting back-to-back. Libby Anne Black led with one run batted in and they turned one double play in the game.
