Members of the Georgia & South Carolina Society Sons of the American Revolution traveled to Augusta on Saturday, September 16, to celebrate Constitution Day at St. Paul's Episcopal Church at 10 a.m. The event this year was sponsored by the Augusta Chapter, National Society Daughters of the American Revolution. After the presentation of the Colors by the Combined Color Guard, the Pledge of Allegiance and the Star-Spangled Banner, the Color Guard posted the Colors inside the church. Several greetings were presented by different organizations and then the biography of Patriot William Few was presented by Mr. Erick Montgomery. The Combined Color Guard then retrieved the Colors and posted them outside in the courtyard. The presentation of the Chapter Wreaths was then presented by over 35 different chapters. After the wreath presentation, over 35 SAR members from the Brier Creek Militia, Elijah Clarke Militia, East Fall Line Continentals and the Brier Creek Artillery fired a three-round volley with their Flintlocks led by Commander Steve Burke. Compatriot Don Bazemore then played Taps with his bugle.
