Durden-Hudson Funeral Directors announces the death of Mr. Roy Joe Boulineau, age 85, of Swainsboro, on Wednesday, May 4, 2022, at Cedar Plantation in Metter. Funeral services were held Saturday, May 7, at 5 p.m. in the Peebles-Curry Memorial Chapel with Rev. Louis Pearce officiating assisted by Rev. Casey Shaw. Entombment followed in the Eastbrook Cemetery. The family received family and friends Saturday May, 7, at the funeral home, from 4 to 5 p.m.

Pallbearers were Christopher Jones, Kelly Boulineau, Tommy Wheeler, Jack Williams, Josh Wheeler and Christopher Sanchez. Honorary Pallbearers were Freddie McVey, Jimbo Hutcheson, Lanny Lincoln and Eddie Lewis.

Mr. Roy Joe Boulineau was born November 10, 1936, in Swainsboro, to the late Hugh Roy and Lena Bell Newman Boulineau. He served as a sergeant in the Army National Guard for 2 years; lived in Savannah for 6 years, where he worked in the shipyards, and cabinet building. Roy then returned to Swainsboro where he opened Boulineau’s Cabinet Shop with his father, Hugh and brother, Billy. He resigned in 1985, was general manager of Henry’s Cabinet Shop before opening All Cabinets, where he worked until retiring in 2001. Mr. Boulineau was a devout Christian and member of Hillcrest Baptist Church, where he served as deacon, Sunday school superintendent, choir director, building coordinator, and sometime pastor. Roy was a devoted and loving husband, father and grandfather, His greatest joy was working with wood and wood turning. In addition to his parents, Mr. Boulineau is preceded in death by his son, Christopher Brown Boulineau; sister, Jerry Scott; and fur babies, Rambo and Ruger.

Survivors include his wife of 27 years, Shirley Williams Boulineau of Swainsboro; children, Keith Boulineau of Monterey, CA, Michael Kelly Boulineau Sr. and Wendy Boulineau (Robert), all of Swainsboro; sister, Betty Jean Hatcher of New Port Richey, FL; brother, Billy H. Boulineau of Swainsboro; grandchildren, Michael Kelly Boulineau Jr. (Jessica), Lindsay Reed (Justin), Brittany

Boulineau Twyman (Blake), Roy Christopher Jones (Abby) and Chase Boulineau; five great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews and extended family.
