The Swainsboro Rotary club met at the Rustic Grill on June 7 during the noon hour. President Guy Singletary called the meeting to order and the club recited the pledge and the 4-way test. There was a brief discussion about the upcoming annual banquet and the location for this event. Jessica Bedingfield will be the incoming President. Singletary also mentioned the successful social that was held at Bernie’s on May 27. Bedingfield introduced her guest, Chelsea Powell. She works with Beddingfield at Pruitt Health in Emanuel county and several surrounding counties.
Richard McNeely introduced the speaker and his guest for the meeting, Dr. Sandra Sharman, Vice president for academic and student affairs for East Georgia State College. Harley Smith was also with Dr. Sharman. Smith is the coordinator of communications and oversees the Sudie A. Fulford Community learning center. Dr. Sharman gave an interesting presentation about East Georgia State college and the performance of the college. Steven McCommas, assistant district governor for Rotary, was also in attendance.
