Robert Wayne Owens, age 55, of Swainsboro, passed away Sunday, April 26, 2026, at Emanuel Medical Center. Funeral services were held Wednesday, April 29, at 2 p.m. at Hebron Baptist Church with Reverends Butch Taylor and Tom Tidwell officiating. Interment followed at Eastbrook Cemetery and Mausoleum. Family received friends Tuesday, April 28, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Chapman Funeral Home.
Pallbearers were Franky Joiner, Dale Derriso, David Oglesby and Donald Oglesby.
Robert was born December 5, 1970, in Swainsboro, to Jessie James Owens and Barbara Jean Tanner Owens. He was a 1989 graduate of Swainsboro High School. Robert was an avid sports fan and loved NASCAR. He was a believer in Christ and loved his family. Robert also loved to fish. Mr. Owens is preceded in death by his mother, Barbara Jean Tanner Owens.
Mr. Owens is survived by his father, Jessie James Owens of Swainsboro; brother, Jessie James Owens, Jr. of Swainsboro; sister, Wanda Owens of Swainsboro; several cousins and many friends.
Chapman Funeral Home of Swainsboro was in charge of arrangements.
