Robert “Bob” Williams, age 76, passed away Friday, December 22, 2023. Funeral service was held Friday, December 29, at 12 p.m. at New Mount Moriah AME Church with Pastor Samuel A. Cooper, Jr. officiating and Rev. Roy Williams presiding. Interment followed at Mt. Zion Cemetery at Garfield.
Bob was born March 5, 1947, in Stillmore, to the late LeRoy and Mamie L. Williams. He attended and graduated from Emanuel County High School, Home of the Rattlers, in 1965. After graduation, Bob relocated to Philadelphia, PA and was employed by the Philadelphia Transit Authority for a number of years. He was also a dedicated volunteer at Emanuel Medical Center Nursing Home. Mr. Williams is preceded in death by his parents; sister, Mary Suttles; and two brothers, Johnny Williams and Levorn Williams.
Mr. Williams leaves to cherish his memories with his sons, Robert Kevin (Cheryl) Williams and Rodney Kinard (Serena) Williams; sisters, Cleo (Stacey) Heflin of Athens and Netta (Jesse) Davis of Swainsboro; brothers, Ronald “Ron” (Angela) Williams of Mission Hill, CA, Lee Arthur (Margaret) Williams of Swainsboro and Dr. Roy (Dr. Mildred) Williams of Fountain Inn, SC; eight grandchildren and a bonus grandchild; several great-grandchildren; and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
