Quality over quantity

In life, it’s easy to assume that having more friends means having a fuller life. But as time goes on, many people realize that friendship is not about how many people are around you, it’s about who truly stands with you when it matters.

True friendship is built on trust, loyalty, and time. It’s a friend who listens without judging, the one who shows up when things get difficult, and the one who sits in silence with you without it feeling uncomfortable. These kinds of relationships come from connection, not numbers.

As I have gotten older, I have realized that friendships aren’t supposed to require endless effort, because those who truly are there for you take you as you are. Between work, responsibilities, and the demands of everyday life, we simply can’t invest deeply in every relationship. Friendship should be about finding the ones that bring encouragement, honesty, laugher, and peace.

My best friends and I took a trip to Lake Sinclair this past weekend. We spent our weekend on the water with friends and enjoying music and fireworks. As we rode on the water, I couldn’t help but think about how blessed we are to be spending time with the people we love. We never fail to have a great time no matter what we are doing.

This trip made me realize that they aren’t just my friends, they’re my family. This quality friendship wasn’t built overnight, it grew through shared experiences, trust, forgiveness, and always showing up.

In the end, life isn’t measured by how many people know your name. It’s measured by the people who truly know your heart. A small circle o floral, caring friends is worth more than a crowd of familiar faces. Those relationships remind us that the richest lives aren’t filled with the most people-they’re filled with the right people.

So, the next time you find yourself worrying about the size of your circle, remember this: it’s never about how many friends you have. It’s about how deeply you value the ones who have chosen to walk through life with you.
