The Youth Enrichment Ministry of Piney Grove Missionary Baptist Church in the Cross-Green Community recently hosted its annual Academic Achievement Day. Certificates and cash awards were presented to church members for having demonstrated academic excellence during the 2022-2023 term. Mekela Hall of Swainsboro High School received an award for maintaining a 4.0 GPA; Recognition in the Black Scholars Program of Augusta University, as well as acknowledgment from the University of Georgia Athens (UGA) for being in the top 9% of the junior class.
Also recognized was Nerkia Hudson for having pursued the studies, passed the examinations, and complied with the other requirements of Grand Canyon University of Phoenix, Arizona to receive her Master of Education in Early Childhood Education.
