Swainsboro baseball just had one of their best seasons in the last decade and a lot of that success has to do with the impact that Kason Palmer had on the team. Palmer dominated hitters while on the mound and gave pitchers nightmares while at the plate - he was the definition of a two-way player. On the mound, Palmer pitched 52 ⅔ innings with a 5-3 record, 1.13 ERA, and 72 strikeouts while only walking 22 hitters. At the plate, he had a .417 batting average with 12 doubles, three home runs, 31 RBI, and 21 walks. Palmer put up these phenomenal numbers as a Junior, meaning his Senior season will be even more fun to watch. I asked Kason what being All-State meant to him and he said “It’s not good enough. I want to win a ring with my brothers, and I haven’t done that yet.” Palmer will continue striving toward his goal of leading the Tigers to a State title.
