Emanuel Surgical Associates is introducing a new program to the community which allows healthy individuals over the age of 45 to schedule screening colonoscopy without a need for an office visit with the doctor before the procedure. You can call the office, and the staff will let you know when you can stop by to get your prep instructions and sign the consent form.
The open-access colonoscopy program simplifies the process and makes colon cancer screening procedures more accessible.
Not all patients will be able to safely undergo colonoscopy without a more detailed evaluation of their health history and their risks for the procedure. Patients with significant illnesses (poorly controlled diabetes, significant cardiac disease, severe breathing problems, and kidney problems) are advised to schedule an office visit so that Dr. Bishop can review your medical history, assess your current condition, and determine how to best meet your health needs.
