For a few years, a stray black cow has been seen on the side of Highway 80 East outside of Twin City in the vicinity of milepost 30. Law enforcement has received numerous calls and responded; however, the cow has never been located. Unfortunately, her free-range era ended abruptly on Friday evening.
Shortly after 7 p.m. on February 26, a couple in a Chevrolet 2500 pickup truck headed westbound suddenly found a 700-pound black cow directly in their path. The impact caused heavy damage to the vehicle, injured the female passenger, and killed the cow.
