On Friday, April 16, Emanuel County emergency personnel were dispatched to the area of Kite Road and Price Williams Road in reference to a two-vehicle motor vehicle crash involving a 4-door Chevrolet 1500 truck and a 4-door Dodge Ram 2500 truck.
According to information received, the driver of the Dodge Ram truck topped a hill in the roadway and collided head-on with the driver operating the Chevrolet truck. It was further discovered that the driver of the Chevrolet 1500, Laura Sue Williams, age 30, of a McKenzie Drive address, was driving under the influence (DUI). Williams was arrested by Georgia State Patrol and transported to the Emanuel County Jail where she was booked on charges of DUI/alcohol, expired tag, driving license suspended/revoked, and failure to yield turning left.
