Things are taking shape with the new home for the Emanuel County tax and election offices. Construction of the new building next to the Post Office is rapidly progressing and is forecast for significant completion by the end of the year. When the project is ready for occupancy, the operations of the County Tax Commissioner, Tax Collections and Tax Assessors as well as the office of Superintendent of Elections will all move into their new home. The building will also serve as the voting location for the Swainsboro precinct election day voting and early voting. Increased customer convenience, easier access, greatly needed additional office space, and faster, more efficient service should be the rule by early 2025.
