Rayssa da Costa Polvora and Trent Carlyle Smoyer were united in holy matrimony Saturday, June 3, 2023, at 7 p.m. The double ring ceremony was performed by Eric Thomas of Mesa, AZ, at Beaver Creek Plantation in Twin City.
The bride is the daughter of Graca da Costa of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil and Herisvaldo Polvora of Nanuque, Brazil. The groom, son of Alison and John Smoyer of Twin City, is the grandson of Carol Jones and the late Albert Jones of Twin City and Helen and John Smoyer of Midville.
Mrs. Smoyer chose her sister, Thayane Costa of Los Angeles, CA, as her Maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Amanda Boechat of Sydney, Australia (childhood friend of the bride), Mahina Piena of Oahu, HI (friend of the bride and groom) and Kristin Smoyer of Twin City (sister of the groom). Mr. Smoyer chose Zack Bell of Oahu, HI as his Best man. Groomsmen were Connor Anglin of Longview, WA, Moses Tauteoli of Holiday, UT and Andrew Javier of St. Louis, MO, all friends of the groom.
Doris Lincks, great-grandmother of the groom, served as Ring bearer.
Music was provided by Paula Scott of Swainsboro.
A reception followed the ceremony at the same location, greeted by Camila Montes, Diane Gamboa and Cam Eldridge.
