The Veterans at the Library held their weekly meeting at the Library Monday morning, June 8, at 9 a.m. With Veteran Scotty Nasworthy presiding, we had 30 in attendance. Shari Watt and Joyce Fennell furnished us with breakfast casserole, grits, cut up fruit and honey bun cake, orange juice, cranberry juice, grape juice, apple juice and coffee. Veteran Scotty then introduced LaPortia Mosley who is the Community Engagement Officer for the Georgia Historical Society in Savannah. LaPortia talked to us about what the GHS does and how important it is for us to preserve our photos and historical information about our families for future generations. Veteran Scotty then updated us on the December 12, 2026, Wreaths Across America project.
LaPortia is a ECI graduate of the Class of 2004 and has been attending our Veterans at the Library meetings for several months, gathering information from our different veterans about their service.
