FARMERS MARKET TO OPEN APRIL 2012
The 2012 Downtown Swainsboro Farmers Market season will begin on April 20. The Farmers Market has become increasingly popular in its short, two-year existence. Featuring musical entertainment by Alan Brasher and guests, and activities such as the Red, White, and Blueberry Cook-Off, the farmers market is an exciting destination for socializing and entertainment in addition to purchasing the freshest local goods.
SHS HONORS STUDENT PARTICIPATE IN NATIONAL HISTORY DAY
Swainsboro High School World History honors students in Jennifer Fitzner’s fall semester classes participated in the National History Day Competition at Georgia Southern University on February 15. National History Day is a highly regarded academic program for elementary and secondary school students. Each year, more than half a million students, encouraged by thousands of teachers nationwide, participate in the NHD contest.
