Flag rally day
Bruce Still, Kylie Freeman, Kendell Rich, Brandon Neal, Brooks Collins, and Chris Davis took part in Flag Rally Day at Emanuel County Institute. Fourth grade students wore red, white, and blue and displayed flags to show support for American troops in the Persian Guld. The students paraded to the campus flag and gathered for group singing of patriotic songs and choral readings.

Official opening
Dewayne Tanner gets assistance from mayor Jim Buckley and County School Superintendent Betty Brown as he slashed the ribbon to officially open Swainsboro/Emanuel County Recycling Center. A large number of local residents gathered at the center on Meadowlake Parkway for the opening ceremonies.

At open house
Attending open house at Cross-Green Fire Department and taking part in presentation of certificates to fire fighters were Swainsboro Fire Chief Jerry Odom, Swainsboro Fireman Michael Strobridge, Gloria Hodges, Ralph Brown, George Harrison, Derrick Knight, Robert Carswell, Archie Brinson, John Knight, Otis Bell, Broderick Walters, Willie Atkins, Jettie Wilcher, Cross-Green volunteer fire fighters, Sheriff Tyson Stephens, County Commissioner Carson Cross, the Rev. Robert L. Stephens, guest speaker, and Roger Shaw, Emanuel County administrator. Members of Stillmore and Canoochee fire departments attended the open house event.
