GRIFFIN TO BE HONORED IN OAK PARK

Family and friends gather to cheer Jeanne Griffin after she completes her torch relay segment for the 2002 Winter Olympic Games. Griffin ran with the torch through the streets of Vancouver, Washington and was one of 100 torchbearers selected by Delta Airlines.

STATE PARK LOWERS LAKE LEVELS

George L. Smith State Park lowered lake levels in the 412 acre Parish Park to make stairs on the historic Mill House and Dam Bridge. During the draining of the lake the manager Matthew Muhmel estimated there were over 480 people in attendance either participating or watching the proceedings. The lake was drained into 15 Mile Creek, and according to Muhmel, it was the perfect time to do so.
