McCoy chosen to train on Meredith Boyd Cosmetology team

Lily McCoy is a recent graduate of Southeastern Technical College with a degree in Cosmetology. After completing school, she immediately applied to take her state boards to become a Master Cosmetologist. She passed both her written and performance tests with flying colors and it has been "full steam ahead" since then. Lily grew up in her family's salon, Main Street Styles, where she actually took her first steps as a child. She likes to follow many well-known hair stylist, colorist and make-up artist on social media. In late February Lily was contacted by one of her idols, a hair stylist and make-up artist, Meredith Boyd of Atlanta. Meredith contacted Lily to invite her to Woodstock, Georgia to go through a weekend of training with pageant hair and make-up skills. Lily immediately spoke to her husband and family and asked their opinion on this opportunity. It was a unanimous decision that she should "go for it!" When Meredith was asked why she chose Lily to be on her team at Miss Georgia this year, she said "I've been following Lily for a while now on various social media platforms and I was very impressed with her skill level with hair color and hair styling of her clients and the before and after pictures she posted. I was also very impressed with her high level of make-up skills."

Some interesting information about Meredith is that she was crowned Miss Georgia in 1999. She has been extremely busy growing her business and promoting her cosmetic line since then. Ms. Boyd is an award-winning makeup artist and licensed master cosmetologist specializing in natural makeup looks for corporations and celebrities nationwide. Her client roster boasts top brands such as ABC, AMC, A&E, AT&T, CBS News, Coca-Cola, Delta, ESPN, Hershey’s Chocolate, Golf Channel, Nickelodeon and Orion. Personalities include 13 Miss Americas and celebrities: Samuel L. Jackson, Jeff Foxworthy, Charles Barkley, Ron White, Kathleen Magadan, Freddie Freeman, Matt Ryan, Big Boi, Ludacris, Hannah Storm, Thom Filicia and David Feherty and many more. After launching her make-up line in 1999 she later started her skincare line in 2020. She is experienced in airbrush and HD makeup as well as hair styling and male grooming for commercial television. As an official makeup artist for Miss America, Miss USA and Miss Universe pageant systems, Boyd has beautified hundreds of state, national and international winners across the U.S. She earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Communications with emphasis in Public Relations, and also studied advanced theatre courses including: acting, stage makeup, scene painting and costume design at Georgia Southern University. Boyd is currently a member of the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences, Georgia Production Partnership, and The Powder Group. She has won 12 pageant titles and most notably Mrs. Georgia United States 2003 and Mrs. Georgia International 2008, placing in the top five at both national pageants.

Meredith's husband is Matt Boyd and he is the official pageant photographer for Miss Georgia as well as Miss America. They work together with hair, make-up, lighting, wardrobe and fashion to get the best photo for each client they meet. Meredith and Matt Boyd are extremely excited about Lily being on their team at Miss Georgia this year.

Lily is married to her childhood sweetheart, Dalton McCoy. Dalton is employed with Battle Lumber Company as a welder and Lily is self-employed with Main Street Styles of Swainsboro. They reside in Millen, Georgia on her great grandparent’s family farm. They have a dog named Drake, a dog named Stumpy and a cow named Daisy. Lily and Dalton enjoy riding their side by side, listening to good music, boating on the Ogeechee River and eating good food.
