Tomlinson Funeral Home announces the death of Mrs. Maxine H. Quick Moxley, age 83, of Swainsboro, on Monday, January 2, 2023, at Emanuel Medical Center. Funeral services were held Friday, January 6, at 11 a.m. at Hawhammock Baptist Church with Rev. Louis Pearce and Rev. Cail Pressey officiating. Interment followed in the Swainsboro City Cemetery. The family received friends Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Tomlinson Funeral Home.

Pallbearers were Watson Mosley, Ken McGee, Al Thomas, Russell Collins, Drone Hudson, and Raymond Wiley.

Mrs. Moxley was born in 1939, to the late Norman and Lucille Ward Quick. Maxine loved gardening and watching birds. She also enjoyed canning vegetables from her garden. Always devoted to her family, Maxine loved spending time with her husband, children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Moxley is preceded in death by her son, Alan Keith Moxley; and grandson, Matthew Mitchell.

Survivors include her husband, Jamie Moxley of Swainsboro; daughters, Karen Mitchell (Joe) of Augusta and Patricia Cox (Tommy Fincher) of Swainsboro; grandchildren, Timothy Cox (Ashley), Jeffery Cox (Bonnie), Caroline Harris (Brian), Lauren Harbin (Dykes) and John Moxley; great-grandchildren, Trenton Cox, Finn Harris, and Lucy Harris; brother, Rev. Leonard Quick of Midville; sister, Jean Bishop of Evans; several nieces, nephews, and extended family.

Tomlinson Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
