Make Room

Posted

Well as you know the season of joy is up on us. Yes, we are getting ready for Christmas. Whether you are ready or not, the season is here. Well I am not quite ready, what about you? I have bought only one gift. I am still deciding on how I am going to give gifts. Sometimes I buy gifts or give money, or take time and bake pies for the neighbors. Well, I must decide quickly because the time is upon us.

As I think about what time it is, I think about to things that happen before Jesus arrived. Yes it had been prophesied that the Messiah was coming. When Joseph and Mary traveled to Bethlehem to pay their taxes and register to vote, she went into labor. When they inquired about a room in the hotel, there was no room. Not only was there no room, they did not make room. Absolutely no one gave up their room for a women with child.

So today while we see the signs of Christmas through the beautiful lights and the nativity scenes, have we really prepared our hearts and made room for Jesus. While we are spending money and time on material or natural things, are we spending time with Jesus? Let us not get so caught up in traditional that we miss the real reason for this season.

This is a good time to examine our lives to make sure we have made room for Jesus. The bible says, " Let every man examine himself." Check to make sure you have the real Christmas. Jesus brings Love, Peace and Joy. So Is there someone you truly hate? There seems to be a lot of that going around lately. Are you in a gang of hate without realizing it? Are you hating people you don't even know because they don't look like you or maybe their behavior doesn't get your approval? Do you think you are better than someone else? Well it's time to check your list and it would not hurt to check it twice. You might find out you are naughty instead of being nice.(smile).

Anyway, let us just make room for Jesus by getting rid of clutter in our hearts Jesus comes to the lowly, the humble, the broken hearted. Make room for Jesus so that you will have Christmas (Love, Peace and Joy) everyday of your life.
