Local stars take the stage for a cause: The Sunshine House hosts Dancing with the Stars Fundraiser

Excitement is building across the Middle Judicial Circuit as nine local couples prepare to put on their dancing shoes for a powerful cause. The Sunshine House Regional Children's Advocacy Center is hosting its annual Dancing with the Stars fundraiser on Saturday, August 1 at the City of Swainsboro Auditorium with this year’s theme, “Rebels of Rhythm, Champions for Children.” This high-energy event showcases community members who have been rehearsing tirelessly to raise awareness and vital funds for children and families impacted by child abuse and neglect.

To accommodate enthusiastic local support and showcase incredible talent, this year’s fundraiser features two separate showtimes - a matinee show at 2 p.m. and an evening show at 6 p.m. Each show will feature two distinct panels of judges, giving every performance a unique flair and scoring dynamic. Spectators can expect an entertaining lineup of choreography, lively music, and heartwarming community spirit.

Community involvement is essential to making the event a success. To support the dancers and mission, you may purchase tickets ($25/each) through a dancing couple, through The Sunshine House employees, or online (see The Sunshine House Regional Children’s Advocacy Center Facebook page for online details). Also online, you can cast your vote for the People's Choice award. If you feel inspired to dance next year, we are already accepting inquiries for next year’s dance lineup. If you are interested in lacing up your dancing shoes for the 2027 stage, contact the center directly to express your interest.

All proceeds from the Dancing with the Stars fundraiser directly support the free, comprehensive services provided by The Sunshine House Regional Children's Advocacy Center. Serving children and non-offending caregivers across the Middle Judicial Circuit, The Sunshine House offers critical, trauma-informed care in a safe and

child-friendly environment, including:
