Southeastern Technical College (STC) Registrar Amanda Lively was selected to represent the College as its nominee for the Technical College System of Georgia’s (TCSG) 2026 Student Impact Award.
The Student Impact Award recognizes employees whose service, leadership, and commitment make a meaningful difference for students, their college, and the Technical College System of Georgia.
Lively was nominated by Dr. Barry Dotson, STC Vice President for Student Affairs, in recognition of more than 25 years of service to the College and her contributions to improving the student experience.
As STC’s nominee, Lively was invited to a special evening of recognition, hosted by Uwill, on October 7, during the TCSG Student Affairs Summit in Peachtree City, Georgia. The evening included a meet and greet with fellow nominees and guests, followed by dinner honoring representatives from each of Georgia’s 22 technical colleges.
“I am truly honored and grateful to receive the College Student Impact Award,” said Lively. “I wholeheartedly believe in the mission of Southeastern Technical College and the positive impact we make every day in the lives of our students, throughout our local communities, and across the state of Georgia. It is a privilege to be part of an institution that is dedicated to changing lives through education and creating opportunities for a brighter future. I am thankful for the opportunity to serve our students and hope to continue making a meaningful difference for many years to come.”
Throughout her career at Southeastern Tech, Lively has served students in Career Services, New Connections to Work, Admissions, the Registrar’s Office, and as an adjunct instructor. Her experience across multiple areas of the College has given her a broad understanding of the student journey, from initial enrollment through graduation.
“Throughout more than twenty-five years of dedicated service to Southeastern Technical College, Amanda has consistently demonstrated an unwavering commitment to student success through exceptional service, innovative leadership, meaningful collaboration, and measurable improvements that have enhanced the educational experience for countless students,” said Dotson. “Amanda exemplifies student-centered service.”
As Registrar, Lively has led several technology initiatives designed to make College services more accessible and efficient. She led the implementation of the MySTC Experience portal, which provides students, faculty, and staff with access to essential services and information. She also managed the implementation of an online forms system that reduced paper-based processes and expanded access to Registrar services.¬ Most recently, Lively oversaw the implementation of Experience Registration, creating a more efficient and user-friendly registration process for students.
“These initiatives reflect Amanda’s commitment to leveraging technology to improve service, eliminate obstacles, and create a more seamless educational experience,” Dotson said.
Lively works collaboratively with departments throughout the College, including Academic Affairs, Student Affairs, Information Technology, Institutional Effectiveness, Administrative Services, and faculty and staff, to support students throughout their academic journey.
Her service also extends throughout the Technical College System of Georgia. As a Registrar Mentor, Lively shares knowledge and best practices with colleagues across the state. She has also contributed to institutional leadership teams, accreditation efforts, strategic planning initiatives, and student success committees.
“Perhaps most importantly, Amanda’s work has produced a lasting and measurable impact on the student experience,” Dotson said. “Her leadership has modernized critical student services, improved access to institutional resources, streamlined registration and graduation processes, enhanced customer service, and increased operational efficiency.”
These improvements have helped students spend less time navigating processes and more time focused on their educational goals.
“Amanda’s work often occurs behind the scenes, yet it positively influences nearly every student who enrolls at Southeastern Technical College,” Dotson said. “Her unwavering commitment to students, innovative leadership, collaborative spirit, and lasting impact on student success make her exceptionally deserving of the Technical College System of Georgia Student Impact Award.”
Lively’s nomination reflects Southeastern Tech’s appreciation for her many years of service and the contributions she continues to make to the College and its students.
