Lillie Bell Strowbridge Wright, age 87, passed away Wednesday, September 13, 2023. A Celebration of Life was held Saturday, September 23, at 1 p.m. at St. Philip Baptist Church with Rev. James Love officiating and Pastor Larry Sherrod presiding. Interment followed in Green Cemetery.
Lillie was born January 9, 1936, in Nunez, to the late George S. Strowbridge and Lillie Mae Pierce. She attended Emanuel County schools and graduated in 1957. After graduating, Lillie worked at Otis Shirt Company and Swan Knitwear, and was later employed with Ezgo Textron in Augusta. After 18 years of service, she retired January 31, 2001. Lillie accepted Christ as her Savior at an early age and joined Ohoopee Grove Baptist Church, then later united with Liberty Baptist Church in Augusta. Lillie was also a member of the Ohoopee Grove WMBA Society. Ms. Wright is preceded in death by her parents; and eight siblings.
Ms. Wright leaves to cherish her memories with her sisters, Evelyn Strowbridge of Swainsboro and Bernice Carter of Detroit, MI; sister-in-law, Rubye N. Strowbridge of Swainsboro; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Mosley’s Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
