Let Us Pray

Posted

As we go back to our Spiritual Garden, we will plant a lot of this, and that is prayer. We first had to squash and clean the garden out of gossip, criticism, hatred and indifference. With those weed in your garden, no matter what you plant they will always choke out the good plants. So be sure you have squashed them out before you begin planting.

Out of the seven peas, the first one we will plant is prayer. We need this to be a border in the garden. It will keep everything else safe. In Luke 18:1 Jesus said, "Men ought to always pray and not faint.". Prayer means you have not given up. It means you have submitted to the highest power when you are praying to God. The Apostle Paul wrote to Timothy, (I Tim. 2:8) "I will, therefore that men pray everywhere, lifting up holy hands without doubting".

So, when we were children, we were taught to pray. Our parents had us to pray and say a verse from the Bible at every meal (3x daily). Then we had to pray every night before we went to bed. Well, every week was started off with prayer on Sunday mornings. My mother would sing and pray throughout the day. My father would pray as he drove the school bus. He would pray as he herd the cattle, fed the pigs and worked the farm and just riding along. Now that did not include church where there was always prayer. Was it too much? NO. Those prayers remain and we still need more prayer today. Yes, I learned to pray about everything. Prayer still works.

So let us plant prayer everywhere and in everything. Watch your life improve with prayer. Watch your home, church, community, and nation improve with prayer. The sick and violent people with hatred in their hearts will put down their weapons with prayer.

I Chronicles 7:14 has given us the answer, "If my people which are called by my name shall humble themselves in prayer and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and heal their land."

Yes, the land is sick, but if you are a child of God, you have the answer.

Let us talk less and pray more. So, when someone approaches you about what is going on in the world, stop right then and say to them, " Let us pray about it". Begin praying. If they pray with you, they genuinely care. If they don't, then you know the rest of the story. So "Let Us Pray." Yes, our world will be a safer place when we pray.
