Leonard Leroy Dillard Sr., age 57, departed his earthly home peacefully on Wednesday, October 11, 2023, at Piedmont Midtown Hospital in Columbus. Funeral service was held Monday, October 16, at 11 a.m. at Rountree Island Missionary Baptist Church in Midville with Pastor Richard Lawrence Jr. officiating. Interment followed in Green Cemetery.
Leonard was born February 9, 1966, in Emanuel County, to Lyna Givins Dillard and the late Leroy Dillard. He received his education in the public schools of Emanuel County. Leonard was a minister and member of Rountree Island Baptist Church. He was a lovable and helpful person. During his lifetime, Leonard enjoyed repairing bicycles, tricycles, skateboards and scooters, and participated in parades, singing, helping others and fellowshipping with family and friends. Leonard was formerly employed by Lawrence Construction and the City of Wadley. Mr. Dillard is preceded in death by his father; daughter, Victoria Dillard; and brother, Melvin Givins.
Mr. Dillard leaves to cherish fond memories with his mother; sons, Leonard Dillard Jr. and Shaun Lamar Dillard; brothers, Gerald Dillard, Eric Dillard and Reginald Dillard; uncles, aunts, other relatives and friends.
