The Veterans at the Library held their weekly meeting at the Franklin Memorial Library Monday morning, April 27, at 9 a.m. With Chair Johnny Tapley presiding, they had 41 in attendance. The Kiwanis Club of Swainsboro fed the Veterans with a fantastic breakfast meal consisting of breakfast casserole, fruit, muffins and all the trimmings. Shari Watt provided the orange juice, grape juice, cranberry juice, apple juice, and coffee. Chair Johnny talked about the upcoming Veterans Cup Golf Tournament and the selling of their "hole" sponsorships. He then introduced Jada Law who is the Administrator of For Life Home Care located in Augusta. They serve Richmond, Columbia, Burke, Wilkes, Greene, Emanuel, Jefferson, McDuffie and Warren Counties and can be reached at 470-439-7237. Their services are: Personal care, companionship/sitter, skilled nursing, homemaking, light housekeeping, palliative care, and respite care. Chair Johnny and several of the veterans then drove to Glenville to G & R Farms. This company donated over 100 bags of Sweet Onions for the players in the Veterans Cup Golf Tournament to be held May 16 at the Swainsboro Golf Course. The Veterans then attended the Georgia Southern Golden Eagles Official Brand Launch held at the Gambrell Auditorium at 4 p.m.
