The Swainsboro Exchange Club welcomed guest speakers Angel Lane and Niamh Matthews from Weekend Blessings at its October 7 meeting. The pair shared the inspiring story and mission of the organization, which works to fight food insecurity among children in Emanuel County.
Founded in 2012 at Twin City Elementary, Weekend Blessings provides bags of kid-friendly, nutritious food for students to take home each weekend. What began as a small effort has grown to serve every school in the county.
In support of their continued work, the Swainsboro Exchange Club presented a $500 donation to Weekend Blessings—a program that has truly been a blessing to local students and families.
