Lady Eagles take win over Lady Crusaders

Payton Peebles collected three hits in four at bats, as David Emanuel Varsity Lady Eagles defeated Robert Toombs Christian Academy Varsity Lady Crusaders 15-1 on Tuesday, September 8, at Robert Toombs Christian Academy. Peebles singled in the third inning, singled in the fifth inning, and singled in the third inning.

Lady Eagles won, thanks in part to eight runs in the third inning. Rayleigh Faircloth singled, scoring two runs, Emily McRae singled, scoring one run, Bailey McNure singled, scoring one run, Aubrey Scott doubled, scoring two runs, and Peebles singled, scoring two runs. A single by Evie Moore put Lady Eagles on the board in the top of the second.

Lady Eagles scored five runs on five hits in the top of the fifth inning. Peebles singled, scoring one run, Faircloth singled, scoring one run, an error scored one run, an error scored one run, and Moore singled, scoring one run.

Lady Crusaders scored one run in the bottom of the fifth on a solo home run to center field by Annabelle Coe.

Faircloth earned the win for Lady Eagles. The starting pitcher surrendered zero hits and zero runs over four innings, striking out seven and walking three. Lizzie Sapp took the loss for Lady Crusaders. The pitcher went four and one-third innings, allowing 13 runs (10 earned) on 13 hits, striking out one and walking three. Sydney Lively appeared in relief for Lady Eagles.

Lady Eagles accumulated 15 hits in the game. McNure, Faircloth, Scott, and McRae each collected multiple hits.

Coe went 1-for-3 at the plate and led the team with one run batted in.
