Kiwanis officers & board members installed

The Kiwanis Club of Swainsboro held its weekly meeting, Tuesday night, September 20, 2022, at the Rustic Grille at 7 p.m. With President Dianna Wedincamp presiding, there were 26 in attendance including their guest, Division 17 Lt. Governor Beth Upchurch. The program was the installation of the Kiwanis Club of Swainsboro's 2022- 2023 Officers and Board of Directors. The installation ceremony started by Lt. Governor Beth Upchurch thanking Dess Smith III, Cindy Ware and Cayla Scarboro for their service as they are leaving the board. Lt. Gov. Upchurch installed the 2022-2023 Directors: Jane Durden, Tracy Mason, Jeff Brewer, Jim Clapham, Cassie McIntyre, Sondra Fortner, Gary Howard and Wanda Ellis. She then installed the 2022-2023 officers: Tim Goodman as Secretary, Travis Garrett as Treasurer, Cheryl Goodman as President-Elect, Dianna Wedincamp as Immediate Past President, and Tammy Allen as President. Past President Dianna gave President Tammy her President's pin and President Tammy gave Dianna her Past President's pin. Tim Goodman presented a Club Sponsor patch to the Swainsboro Kiwanis Club for their sponsorship of the new Effingham County Kiwanis Club. He then presented 2021-2022 Perfect Attendance awards to Tammy Allen, Jim Clapham, Travis Garrett, Cheryl Goodman, Tim Goodman, and Mary Ellen Smith. Tim presented Kiwanis Legion of Honor awards to Edwin Canady as a 50-year Kiwanian, Roger Peebles as a 40-year Kiwanian, Frank Patrick as a 35-year Kiwanian, and Travis Garrett as a 25-year Kiwanian. He also presented a 2020-2021 Outstanding Kiwanian Award to Jane Durden. Past President Dianna Wedincamp presented Kiwanian Character awards to club members Gary Couse and Deana Patrick, a Chairperson of the Year award to Jane Durden, an Extraordinary Diligence Award to Tim Goodman, a Helping Hand award to Mary Ellen Smith, and Kiwanian-of-the-Year to Petite Garrett. The carrot cake, donated and baked by Petite Garrett, was won by Petite Garrett. The Domino's pizza, donated by Domino's Pizza, was won by Jane Durden.
