Kencerio Deontae Walker, age 18, passed away Saturday, May 23, 2026, in Waynesboro, due to injuries sustained in a tragic accident. Funeral services will be Saturday, June 6, at 11 a.m. at the Swainsboro High School Auditorium with burial following in the Hagan Cemetery in Hagan, GA. Viewing will be held Friday, June 5, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Whitaker Funeral Home in Metter.
Kencerio was born December 5, 2007, in Statesboro, to James Kenneth and Carilena Walker. On Thursday, May 21, 2026, Deontae graduated for Swainsboro High School with honors, having maintained an overall academic average of 90 or above throughout his high school career. He was also recognized at the school's Honor's Day Program for having completed the Culinary Arts Pathway and for having donated more than three units of blood at the school blood drive over the last school year. Deontae had aspirations of continuing his education in the field of nursing and eventually becoming a registered nurse. He was a joy and treasure to his family. Having lost his mother several years ago, he had a very strong bond with his father. Mr. Walker is preceded in death by his parents; and uncle, Marvin Lee Johnson, Jr. who passed away May 27, 2026.
Mr. Walker leaves to cherish fond memories with four sisters, Ja'dasha Williams of Claxton, Latoya Walker, Shardee Walker and Kendra Walker, all of Metter; brother, Tyler Walker of Swainsboro; and a host of loving aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
